I'm in hospital for preterm labor! Updated!
Went to doc for routine cervix check and growth sono yesterday...found to be 2cm dilated and contracting! Sent straight to L&D at NSUH for steroid shot and magnesium. Mag didn't help much so they increased and still not much effect so they added indocin, I was having contractions every 2-3 mins and now 24 hrs later they are only a few times an hr thank god!! Mag is horrible though and I feel like I'm in a coma! Hopefully after 2nd steroid shot I can get more meds here for 24 hrs and then just go home on bedrest (this was scenario one doc mentioned). Asking for prayers since I want these babies to keep growing (baby a 3 lbs 7oz, baby b 3lbs 11oz). I'm only 31 weeks today! Thanks ladies
I was discharged yesterday on procardia and hopefully I can get another few weeks out of this pregnancy! Praying the uterus stays quiet! :)

I'm hospital for preterm labor!
I'm so sorry you're going thru this momma. Thank god you are this far along and they are a good size. Being pregnant with twins is so stressful! You never know how long you are going to go, so every extra day or week you get is great.
You are almost at the end, just a little bit more to go. Then they will get here and they will be perfect.

Hang in there. Be thankful you are this far along and you are in the correct place. If the times comes, their NICU is amazing.

MANY PRAYERS! Hang in there! I was hospitalized for a week due to preterm labor as well. I was able to wean off the magnesium and all meds and just take Nifedipene every 4 hours (around the clock). I was on STRICT bedrest at home (only getting up to use bathroom or take <10 minute shower). You're already way ahead of me since this happened to me at 21w6d. I ended up with a cerclage too, but obviously you are too far along for that.
I had my babies at 34w4d. They will be 8 months old on Sunday with no major health issues (you can PM me for more info - but nothing that will affect them long-term). They did have NICU time.
ETA: I had a sono the DAY BEFORE I surprisingly had the babies and they were like 1 lb more than the sono had said. So just keep that in mind! Stella was 5 lbs 2 ounce and Hudson 5 lbs 6 ounces.
Also, this is why people on the board always say that even though you might FEEL awesome, crazy things can be happening! It's so odd, right???

Its so scary, I know!!
I was in the hosp for PTL at 33 weeks as well. the mag and steroid shots helped and I was able to go home and buy myself 2 extra weeks.

Thanks everyone!! Just got off the NST monitor and no contractions!! Yay! Still on mag and indocin so I feel like I'm in a coma but I'm allowed to eat and pee like a normal person (well with assistance and monitoring the amt of urine output), so I feel better. Got second steroid shot today so they said my OB will evaluate me tomorrow and maybe see if I can handle stopping the IV mag slowly, little scared about that! Hoping my cervix is still only 2 cm dilated! Thank you for all your kind works, prayers and stories about your own experiences, it's very empowering! I'm thanking God for every moment they stay inside! Xo

I'm jus seeing this now!! Praying your little ones cook a little longer but I have to say they are great sizes already so thank God for that. Did u have any suspicions? Thank goodness you had a doc appt. I have one next Tuesday and I feel like that is so far away now that I'm reading this! Please keep us posted. I will be thinking and praying for all 3 of u!!:)

Thank you everyone - just hanging out trying to cook the babies longer, praying I can get off these meds soon cuz side effects suck. But I told my husband i must be a witch cuz when we got up before appt on Thursday morning I said something's different I'm nervous and he said no no ur good but I knew something had changed. Okay maybe I'm not a witch and its just listening to my body or mothers intuition! Lol

I can't believe it! I am just reading this now... praying for you and babies that all will be okay. How do you feel today? What did the contractions feel like? Were you "off" when you woke up that morning or did you have some pressure that made you feel as if your cervix opened up?

I just felt different, I didn't feel contractions on monitor in MDs office but he said they were there and by the time we got hooked up at hospital I could feel them more, like BH but more frequent and stronger. I feel ok today, they decided to keep me on mag and indocin for the weekend (usually both come off 24 hrs after 2nd steroid shot which would be now) bec I started contracting again randomly this morning....so plan is to wait to see what happens when mag and indocin are off, they may put me on Procardia if my blood pressure can handle it...so I'm nervous but I'm just grateful for buying some more time...keep the prayers coming! Thank you!!

Good luck! Praying for your little ones!! Twin pregnancies are scary because for some reason we don't always feel labor but can be dilated and in labor! Hang in there! Take it week by week. Each week is a milestone. Getting to 34 is a big one and you are almost there!! I was put on bedrestat 26 weeks with shortened cervix and never thought I'd make it. I was on indo on and off which lenthened my cervix. They were able to stop my contractions twice and I didn't need steroids. I'll be 36 weeks on tues and I finally feel like I'll be in the clear to deliver. It's not easy but you have to take it one day and one week at a time.

Still in the hospital but happy to report that I am 32 weeks 3 days today! Hoping these babies get real comfy and stay in for another 2 weeks! Thank you everyone for all your prayers and kind words!!
