pregnancy symptoms and gender prediction

I know this is just a myth, but I've heard from a few people that boys cause no to little symptoms in the first trimester, while girls cause more severe pregnancy symptoms. I'm not having any real symptoms so people are already predicting i'm having a boy and i'm just 11 weeks tomorrow.

When the time comes, i'll be finding out the gender, but it's fun to try to guess in the meantime.

Did this myth hold true for any of you? Did you have many symptoms in the first trimester and are you having a boy/girl?

pregnancy symptoms and gender prediction

With DD, I was sick from weeks 9.5 - 14. Threw up every single morning, then was fine the rest of the day.

This time with DS, I was sick from weeks 5.5 to week 21!!!!!! Threw up multiple times a day, constantly nauseous, pretty much debilitating and ended up having to take zofran just to be able to function.

So the myth definitely wasn't true for me. It's all about how your body handles pregnancy hormones. Mine hates them, apparently lol.

Re: pregnancy symptoms and gender prediction

Every one of these myths and predictions gave me different results. I just had a girl and was not sick once. I broke out around my chin though. The only thing I actually felt was sore boobs and really tired.

My sister has a boy and girl, and she didn't have any big symptoms with either.

I haven't really had any symptoms either, and find out the gender on Monday, so we'll see what happens!

I was very sick from 8 weeks to about 16 and also was breaking out like crazy!... I'm having a boy. Now i feel great and my face never has a blemish EVER.... And I'm all "belly". So with that said, in the beginning I felt like I had "girl" symptoms, but they all changed to typical "boy" symptoms by 2nd trimester!

Total myth.

I also crave salty and fruit which is supposed to mean boy, but nope. Pre-pregnancy my weakness was sweets, but now I can take or leave them.

i get nausea every once in a while but nothing bad. i have been breaking out quite a bit though.
my SIL, when she was pregnant with her first was incredibly sick almost the entire pregnancy, and she had a girl. She is pregnant again now and was severely sick again during the first trimester this time and is pregnant with a boy. So i don't think those myths really hold true

Re: pregnancy symptoms and gender prediction

Pregnancies 1 and 2 I had NO symptoms until about 20 weeks when the hearburn kicked in. I delivered Chat Icon andChat Icon and both were bald up until about age 2!

This time I had a lot of nausea but never got sick and the heartburn started at 10 weeks. Chat Icon again!

All three of my pregnancies have been completely different!

Not true with me and I had a DD! Chat Icon

Except for EXTREME exhaustion and some cramping the first trimester was a breeze. No morning sickness, no nothing.

This time around, everything is going EXACTLY like it did with my DD.............wondering if I am pregnant with another girl!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Not true for me. Dc #1 was a girl and I had no symptoms, except breaking out a bit. Never got sick, face didn't change, etc. This time around, I have a feeling it's a boy. I am extremely tired, I have mild fits of nausea, and crazy food aversions. We shall see two weeks from today!

DS1 normal morning sickness, gag reflex type, lightheaded
DS2 normal, but threw up a bit more than the last
Current pregnancy-DD violently ill for 6weeks, @ 12wks the throwing up stopped and the weakness and tiredness stayed around. But the second trimester was much better, just had food aversions still.
As with all my pregnancies I am low iron but, with this one I'm extreme low iron.

So I guess in my case it holds true.

I threw up every morning from 8 weeks to the morning of delivery and I had a boy. Everyone swore I was having a girl based on how sick I was every morning.

I was all day sick...throwing up in my car the minute I get off the train, ER trips due to dehydration and it went into the 2nd tri.
Had a boy. It is not true at all. 2 girls at work were PG during the same time....one sick as hell the other no issues...both girls.

With Chat Icon i had no problems whatsoever until 38 weeks and developed preclampsia

This time with Chat Icon i had MS until 12 weeks, bled, low uterus lifting restriction, and very low blood pressure causing dizzy spells. SO yeah...much different for me!

I had a girl, and I had little-to-no morning sickness. My sister had 2 boys, and was so sick for both pregnancies.
