Is there any illness or allergy that looks like mosquito bites? concerned about DS.
DS is a mosquito magnet so this summer his legs and arms are always covered in bites. Last night we were at my parents and the kids were all outside for hours at dusk and I forgot the bug spray at home.
but, that said this morning DS woke up with what looks like mosquito bites but there are so many and they are in strange places - he has SIX on his neck, 3 on his face, three on his wrists, four more on his arms and three on his leg. i noticed two on his neck last night but, the rest i am just noticing today. I'm just concerned maybe this is something else? Is there anything else that looks like mosquito bites but, is actually an illness? TIA!

My younger daughter gets covered in mosquito bites, and they swell a lot. I have been worried in the past because she will wake up with so many, and like you I have wondered if they are bites, an allergy or something else. I took her to the doc for one bad bite that made her foot swell. Dr said it was some kind of bite, and she just might be very sensitive to bug bites. He suggested a tiny bit of benadryl. They always go away in a few days, but I swear, she is a magnet for them. She gets more than anyone else in our house.

My son had the same thing - bites on his neck, legs, face, and arms. I thought it could have been something else too and kept an eye on it, but he seemed fine and they went away within a few days so I think they were just mosquito bites.

there are flies that bite too
I'm usually the one covered with bites. I can tell you 7 bites on the neck is normal for me. That's where you're smelliest
DS gets bit where I kiss him, oddly enough. Its all coming from me
"wow another bite on the forhead! how weird!" ... took a few bites for me to realize they are going after my scent. I tried changing shampoos, deodorants, I try to wash clothes in free and clear. Nothing I can do but load up on the citronella.

I would just think that he got a ton of mosquito bites. My DD was with my mother last weekend, and they stayed out late at the fire pit in their backyard. Within 1 hour of being outside she had 40 mosquito bites, on her forehead, back, neck, ears, etc. Some of them swelled up. I would guess that is what happened with your DS.

DD#2 is extremely sensitive to bug bites. I actually took her to the ped after the Hoyt Farm GTG b/c she was covered in bites from head to toe. They think it was sand flea bites.
She is currently covered in mosquito bites and they swell up unbelievably. The ped said to just put warm compresses on them as much as possible to help with the swelling.
