When I was growing up I used to go two places with my mother every other week...one was the nail salon, and the other was the tennis club.
To this day, two of my favorite smells are nail arcrylic & tennis balls. My mom still plays tennis several times a week, and when I am with her I always give her balls a nice big squeeze and a smell.

I did when DD was an infant and just slept. Now, she would be running all over so I have someone watch her and my son. He'd probably be really good and want his own mani

i dont plan on taking her till she is old enough to have a mani and pedi and even then for the first couple times i will probably bring someone with me just in case she dosent sit and want it done.
I wouldnt bring a baby now simply because it is me time and i dont want have to worry about her being fussy and cranky

I do it A LOT. My place never has any smells or fumes. They bother me so I wouldnt go to a place that has it.
It a very modern day spa, very open and airy. They know me well and knew me when I was pregnant. So they love when I bring her in.
But I am smart about it. Its in a shopping center so what I usually do is take her for pizza then walk the strip until she goes to sleep and then I go in so most of the time she sleeps her nap there.
Realistically I like to go ALONE just to have ME time but I have a husband that works very early to very late and my mom babysits for me when I work so I could never see justifying calling her to babysit so I can ger a mani/pedi. But that is just ME.
I dont do it often but once in awhile I will take her. I usually get clear on my nails so dont have to worry about drying.
Last time I was REALLY lucky....I was able to get a mani/ pedi and waxing and she slept thru it the whole time.
DD is 2.

I've never taken DS but only b/c I find that to be MY time  It's way to hard to take care of LO with wet nails!

Same for me. DD is almost 2 and I've never brought her. Getting a mani/pedi is one of those little luxuries that I enjoy alone .

My nail salon never smells, very few acrylics going on and well ventilated.
I brought DD all the time when she was in the infant seat. She would sleep thru the entire thing.
It was actually one of our weekly outings on my maternity leave. Got us out of the house.

Never. I don't think it is safe place for them. Whether you smell the fumes or not - it's a nail salon - they are obviously there. So now, I only get my nails done usually when I am going somewhere - it isn't worth the it otherwise since i don't usually have someone to watch the kids. IMO inhaling those fumes can't be a good thing - my painted nails are not worth it.

I have taken mine when they were babies and now I can't go without taking those two crazies with me because they want mani/pedis too!

DH is 22 months and ive never taken him to the nail salon. my salon doesnt have a fumes problem but my DS would never sit still for me to actually enjoy the mani/pedi i was paying for. he stays home with DH or my mom.

During DS2's first year, he pretty much came everywhere with me! I am a SAHM and if I wanted a mani/pedi, he was there too! I would go when they first opened and was just about the only person in the salon. He would stay in his stroller. I would take a break as needed to nurse then he would go back in the stroller! I would sometimes keep in in the sling if I was getting a pedi so he could sleep on me

No, I've never done it, I don't like the idea of having them around the fumes. I get one like every 3-5 months now, I always feel bad asking someone to watch them for that.

i took my DD up until she was 6 or 7 months old. after that she wouldn't stay in the stroller for that long.

 I'm half asleep here & I'm reading LIF posts. I had to wake myself up to give this the chuckle that it deserves. Did you just come up with this or is it, like, a common joke among children of tennis players?! Do you also lick your mom's fingernails to get the taste of acrylic or does she no longer wear them?
To answer the OP, I don't remember ever bringing my son. I always felt that if he did need something I would be imposing on the other people in the salon. It probably would have been fine but I've usually gone when DH is home.

She still has acrylic nails, I don't lick them as often as I used to! But when I go into a nail salon and smell the acrylic, it smells sooo good, like my childhood! I think you have an obsession with mother licking. I never lick her balls, just squeeze them.
