How soon did you tell family you were pregnant?

I am only 3 weeks now and I plan on telling my mom and dad tomorrow. Has anyone told their families really early on? Is it bad luck to do this? I just cant hold it in anymore...I know they wont blab it to anyone...

I honestly have only told two people. I planned on telling family members on mothers day (11 weeks) but I think I am going to wait until I have my level I, which is a week after.

I told my mom and dad the day after I found out, and DH's parents after the blood test confirming, which was the following week. We swore them to secrecy until 10 weeks, when we told everyone else.

We told our families after our first doctors appointment at 6w5d

With my first pregnancy, we told my family the day after I POAS!!!

The next time, I had a chemical and told my parents the morning I POAS. (before I knew it was a chemical, obvious)


This time I was a bit more reserved and waited till we got a doubling beta (blood work). They knew we did IVF, otherwise I would have held off till we saw the heartbeats.

I told our parents right away and close siblings. I waited til about 10 weeks before I told everyone else.

I told them at 8 weeks. I told one friend that is pregnant so I would have support and someone to ask questions.

I will tell everyone (including my reveal here) after my 12 week sono on Monday.

I wanted to make sure everything was ok before getting everyones hopes up.

I told my BFF about a half hour after I found out because there was no way I could keep it to myself.

Our moms/my brother found out at 8w. Our closest friends found out at 10w. Everyone else found out at 12w.

I can't keep secrets like that. I told them right after I told DH. My mom was the 1st person I called. With both pregnancies.

I told my parents the day the doc called me with my beta. I had to they were sitting on the edge of their seat all day waiting for the doc to call.

Just curious.. how did u come up with being 3 weeks pregnant??I think ur calculations might be a bit off. usually U dont find out that u are pregnant until 4 weeks. Even with blood work.

First off, congrats!!

We told our immediate families at 4 weeks. Part of me is glad we did, but part of me wishes we hadn't. We went through IF treatments that they knew about, so everyone was kind of waiting for it and I didn't want to lie and say I wasn't for however long. But my Dad blabbed to people and my in-laws 1) bought us a crib the next day, 2) blabbed to a couple of people, and 3) were really annoying with trying to push us to announce before we were ready.

i told my parents and siblings the day i peed on the stick!

DH told his family very shortly after that. i figured why wait? god forbid something happened, they would know that too....

i told my best best friend and our families as soon as i found out at 4 weeks!

I told my BFF three seconds after I told DH. I was still holding the stick ha.

For everyone else we waited 11 weeks. We have a history of IF and losses so I was careful not to get everyone's hopes up.

we didnt tell our parents until 13 weeks and extended family we told over the following couple of weeks.

we told only our closest family and friends after the second beta and only because we did IVF and were waiting to hear what happened.
