Have you ever taken your DC to a chiropractor?

Just curious.

There is a mom in Derek's Mommy & Me class that is a chiropractor. She said she works on kids all the time and has adjusted her own kids since they were infants. She brought it up to me when I was telling her about Derek's ear infections. I also read in a sensory book that chiropractors are great for kids with sensory issues, ADHD, etc. I spoke to her about it today and she said absolutely.

I'm thinking about doing giving this a shot.

It's funny that your posted this because I am going to take my son to the chiropractor tomorrow. He is six months old and his has a milk allergy, reflux issues and torticollis. He is on a special formula and med for the reflux but I figured that the chiropractor can't hurt. I have heard many great stories from friends who swear by them. We are going tomorrow for our first "adjustment"..I'll keep you posted.

Yes! Your entire body is controlled by your nervous system......I definitley want to keep my family alligned. Children who have regular chiropractic adjustments have fewer colds, ear infections and flu. It is completely natural. What I cannot understand is why everyone doesn't have their kids adjusted.

I love my ped. chirporactor! He was able to get my DS off of prescription formula and Zantac. I am now a believer. Healthy spine, healthy life.

I used to go to a chiropractor who adjusted all ages! She had infants in there for adjustments all the time (so cute!!)
She was always trying to get me to bring Lily in....but I never did....she's always been pretty healthy, so I figure whatever we're doing works for her.

But they do say it helps with ear infections and other reoccurring illnesses. Go for it!

I havnt but one of my dads cousins told me to take dd to one b.c she has acid reflux she insits it will help her and she wont need the meds but im so nervous about it....

I was more nervous about the meds I was giving DS than the adjustments.....which is how I wound up at the chiropractors. We were desperate for releif for the poor little guy. FM me if you want more information, DS had severe Reflux.

Both kids were colicky and both kids were treated by a chiro. I noticed a HUGE change!

Sorry to hijack this thread, but could anyone please recommend your chiropractor? I've been meaning to find one to bring DS to. He has so many food allergies, and I was hoping this might help.

yes. Our friend is a chiropractor. She used to check my kids & adjust them particularly when they were learning how to walk. She said the shock to the spine is a lot more than what people expect. Also I noticed when I noticed one child was more comfortable leaning one way than another. Even for things like sinus infections, ear infections...they love it. It helps that she's great with kids.

I have not but I would. I'm not sure if the one I go to works on kids.

My entire family goes. He has been adjusting me since I was 8 I can count on one hand the amount of times i've been sick in 30 years. DD has been getting adjusted since she was 5 days old

DH and I visit a chiro, if my older son is with us, he takes a look at him and has examined him since he was just 6 months old. My younger ds hasnt been seen. I prob wouldnt under normal circumstances, but I absolutely love our chiro, and if he stopped working i prob wouldnt visit another chiro ever again. he treated me when I was pregnant with both ds's. I have perm back damage and the weight of the baby can do more damage so he helped keep me comfortable.

i have not, but have heard very good things. MIL swears it helped DH when he was an infant. (he had a bad birth and supposedly cried a lot for the first few months until he saw a chiro.)

However, I must admit that I am terrified of chiros and don't go. I have a friend whose cousin who had a massive stroke after an adjustment. He was in his 20s, and it happened in the parking lot of the chiro's office. He ultimately passed away at a very young age.

I started seeing a chiro that I met at a wellness seminar at work a few weeks ago. I have chronic back pain that has only gotten worse.

In the seminar they mentioned about treating infants and children. A lot of times there are birth traumas that we are not even aware of in their spine/nervous system that lead to problems down the road; they do treat kids with autism & sensory disorders;

Its interesting stuff and I think i will have DS checked out at some point while being treated there. Ds is 17mo.
