Great news about my Dad!
As some of you know, my dad (and mom) live in AZ and unfortunatley dad sitll has to work to pay the bills. He's 74 years old and has tons of experience and has held top jobs in his field but now he is just looking for a job to pay some bills and to keep himself sharp.
He was laid off from his last job on Friday as the office closed and his job ended. He was bummed about it and has been sending his resume out all over the place.
I told him not to expect any calls this week since it's a dead week for most. But he got two calls and two interviews!
It's so difficult to get a job at his age..but since he moved out to AZ he has had no problems getting jobs. He has never been out of work for more than a few weeks. He is truly amazing. I'm glad there are companies out there that appreciate seniors and their contribution to the work force.
I wish he didn't have to work, but him staying active is an excellent way to hedge against the perils of old age. He loves to work.
Thanks for listening to me babble..he was so happy to get the interviews.

My dad is also 74 and insists on helping us with little things all the time, he never sits still...

Little known factoid about dad:
About 18 years ago he won the lottery..about $1500. Cool right?
He went out and bought a computer..he didn't know anything about computers.
He taught himself everything about the computer and software.
He taught me everything I know. To this day, if I need help with anything computer related, I go to him.
Very inspirational. He never stops learning either. He is thinking about taking some real estate courses because he was working for a real estate management co and may get a job with another one soon.
I'm very proud of him.
Can you tell I'm daddy's little girl?
