Gas pains

Hi Ladies,

Forgive me for the fake screename but I have a question. I am 11 weeks today and have been having really painful gas pains... I could barely walk today. Is this normal? Also my stomach puffed up a little I'm assuming due to gas... anyone experience this? is this normal? anything i can do about it? I try to take as little medication as I can...

Normal.

Try some Tums, totally safe, they may help. Also, if you're constipated and that's causing the gas you can take Colace which is a stool softener. Prenatals can make you constipated, it's very common.

I've had HORRIBLE gas pains through out the pregnancy, it's the worst...

I have tried to narrow it down to what I was eating. At first I thought it was my prenatals (still could be) but I found some fruits give me gas as well as anything high in fiber.

maybe you can find what's causing it? or maybe it's just part of pregnancy. Either way it stinks. I hope you find releif soon!

Yup totally normal

You will probably have some no matter what bc your digestion slows down incredible during pregnancy so your body can absorb more of what it needs but this means that stuff stays in your body WAY longer than before which leads to - yup gas! also progesterone relaxes those same muscles which adds to that process

try -

avoiding carbonation
eating smaller meals (the six a day plan)
avoiding foods that cause constipation (bananas is actually a big culprit here)

so normal . i got off the LIRR train tHE other day and had 3 people ask me if i was ok bc i was walking like i was in labor hahah ALL I THOUGHT WAS THE SCENE FROM GHOST
