Anyone ever get gas pains that feel like death?
Seriously I almost went to the hospital the other night.
The pain in my upper abdomen was so severe that I couldn't sit,stand, lay down. I just had to keep pacing. I was doubled over at points.
I felt a lot of gas moving around in my stomach and I felt like my stomach was spasming- almost like it was in a vice and being squeezed.
I have had kidney stones before and the pain was almost equivilant to that (which is pretty much worse than death if you've ever had one!)
However, this was not in the spot for a kidney stone so I knew it wasn't that.
I thought of my gallbladder too but I hear that pain is more localized to the upper right side- and this pain was all over the place.
Also, it went away pretty quickly.
Can gas pains be THAT painful??

Yes, gas pains can be THAT painful.
I got really, really bad gas pains after my c-section with DS#1. Way worse than my incision pain. It was awful, awful, awful.
Ever since then my stomach has not been the same and I get severe gas pains. Sometimes it feels like under my ribs, sometimes by my kidneys, but they are excruciating!!

I have had them that bad. What helps me is warming up some water to as hot as I can stand it and sipping on it.
Gets things moving along and OUT LOL

Yes, I thought I had to go to the hospital the other morning, but realized it was gas pains.

Yes! I've had some horrific ones, where I also wondered if it was my gallbladder. It never happened with DS though.

OMG YES!
One night I had it so bad I couldnt stand up straight....it was really painful...i just layed in bed and rubbed my tummy!

Yup. I woke DH up the other night when I got up to pee b/c all of a sudden it hit me. I thought something was really wrong. Then in a minute it was gone.
