C-section scar opened up..TMI
Did this happen to any other c-section moms? I woke up at 3am soaked in blood. A tiny hole in my scar opened up and the blood/fluid would not stop pouring out of it. I called the emergency line and the dr told me to put gauze and pressure on it until the morning and then go to the office. I went and everything is ok, dr said to keep draining it and make sure it doesnt get swollen,red and no fevers.

i didn't have a c-sec, but i had surgery on a bile duct last year and the same thing happened 3 weeks post surg. it was TERRIFYING - i literally heard a pop and suddenly there was a lot of blood and fluid everywhere.
i called the surgeon's emergency line and he explained that there was a pocket of fluid that needed to get out, so it opened the wound. i put some steri-strips on it that night and saw the Dr the next day - he was impressed with my self-patching!  he gave me some more steri-strips to keep it closed and i never had the issue again.

YES!
But I had a lot of swelling and went to see the doctor. He said there was fluid underneath and to keep an eye on it or he'd have to open and drain it.
That night it opened on its own.
My scar is TEENSY TINY now (7 months PP) so don't worry!

People often think of a c/s as no big deal, like getting a cavity filled. It is major surgery. I did not have this problem but had many others. HUGS..do not do anymore lifting or too much bending. You need to remember that you had a major surgery- it is not the same as a vaginal birth. Take care of yourself. HUGS.

Thanks Ladies!! I just hope this stuff stops leaking soon cause its gross!! Dr said it could last a week or 2

Mine lasted max 3 days.... put pressure on it and just keep changing whatever you are using to soak the fluids!

Yes mine opened up and I had to have visiting nurses come to my house for several MONTHS after to check the incision every week. It was getting pretty close to having to get plastic surgery, but then it healed.

This exact thing happened to me! I stood up in the night and like (what seemed like) a gallon of fluid came pouring out of a tiny hole in my incision.
I went back to the hospital and they said it was fine, but in the upcoming days the incision did get infected. I saw a district nurse who bandaged me up every other day, and the midwife who came to my house also took care of me.
Also, I had two courses of anibiotics, one was a regular course and the other was a anerobic one.
Now its all fine! Good luck!!
