Bleeding uncontrollably after c section - way TMI

I was wondering if this happened to anyone else? Yesterday was 10 days after my c section and I woke up to heavy heavy bleeding. The rest of the day there were chunks of the placenta (I think) coming out. I must have filled the toilet bowl with blood at least three times. Blood was just flushing out of my body.

I called the dr. and she said if the bleeding stayed the same to go to the hospital. Luckily it slowed down some throughout the day.

I am off to the drs. now and then bringing jack for his checkup.

Did this happen to anyone else? Is this a pretty common thing?

I had a day of bad bleeding. There were clots & all & I soaked a maternity pad. It happened while I was still in the hospital so the nurses & Drs checked it out. They were not concerned so I did not even think about it. That was the only time it was bad.

Are you BF? When DD had a really good feeding, I would notice much more blood.

I'm not breastfeeding. The dr. said I was doing too much and that's what brought it on. I am baiscally going to have to be bed ridden for the next few days. Chat Icon

Same here - it only happened in the hospital the day after DD was born when they went to get me up walking on my own. I hope it gets better soon! Try to take it easy. Chat Icon

It def. sux but it's ok. I am very weak from losing all the blood so I really can't do much anyway. Thank god my mom has been helping and my DH is off from school for the summer. I don't know how girls do this whose husbands have to go right back to work.

I was just about to ask you this. Thank God you have help. It is definitely hard in the beginning without DH's being around. My DH was home some of the time, but I had other family that came and hung out with me Chat Icon
