Optimum Remote Control

Does anyone else's cablevision remote react REALLY slowly?

Like I hit "7" and it's like a second or two before the TV registers that I hit the "7."

Re: Optimum Remote Control

This is why we bought a universal remote that controls all our devices (TV, Cable Box, DVD, Surround Sound, etc), and we don't have the issue. The Cablevision remote sits in a couch holder now.Chat Icon

Re: Optimum Remote Control

Is it a remote for an HD box? My remote with my HD box does this and it drives me nuts but I have not noticed with a non-HD box.

Re: Optimum Remote Control

That's because the remote is waiting for you to enter 4 numbers - like if you were going to channel 1000. If you hit zeros in front of the 7 it will change right away.

Yeah right. LOL...I agree. No wonder other countries hate us. Look at what we complain about. HA HA HA

Does the universal remote control the DVR too?

You can swap it out at the Cablevision store. I've done it a few times over the years.
