PG on my own - late miscarriage

My second DC was IVF (late ovulation and DHs sperm off). Well a year later I got pg on my own - had a 16 week miscarriage.....If I decide to try again, do you think my chances are better using the frozen embryos I have or trying again on my own? my gut tells me that I got pg very late in my cycle and I have a feeling that contributed to the mis - quality of egg and all....any have any experience with this? still have to wait for all of the chromo test results etc.

I think you have a very good point.. When you ovulate very late in cycle it can cause issues.. If you have the eggs frozen and you already conceived with them.. Use them up.. What is going to happen to the frozen ones if you dont use them?

I also dont know your financial situation.. I you are covered by insurance I am sure that plays a factor as well..

Re: PG on my own - late miscarriage

I was faced with this recently./ My son was IVF and then I just recently got PG naturally and M/C;ed at 13 weeks.

I spoke to my Dr at length about getting PG naturally versus IVF. He said in most cases it doesnt matter, that it would have happened even if I had had IVF.

What caused your m/c? Did they do genetic testing? ( I just read you are waiting). Honestly a 16 week M/c is more then likley a chrmosome issue and egg quality DOES NOT create those issues. Its a fluke.

I have 3 embryos frozen and am not sure what I will do either. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks - I guess I am confused b/c I read that any loss after 10 weeks is most likely NOT a chromo issue - like a 5 % chance. but with my age (36) and my DH being 40, I'm sure those odds are higher.
