Nothing fits her!!!

I bought Marron a bunch of clothes for the fall. I got them in late August - early Sept. pretty much when Gymboree was having their sales and 20% coupons and giving the Gymbucks.

So yesterday because it was really autumn-like I wanted to put a new outfit on her and everything is WAY TOO BIG!!! I'm so annoyed I can't even speak!! I got her 2T stuff, figuring that the 18-24 months would be too short for her. Well the little sweater jumper I put on her yesterday was down to her calves. I realize she will probably grow into it and it will last her through the whole season, but what do I do now? Go buy all new stuff? And alot of it is nice browns and oranges -- real fall-type stuff and will def look better on her now instead of in February.

I guess I'll have to bring some things in to exchange when I go this week to use my Gymbucks. I just wish they had a dressing room in there so I could try the stuff on her!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Does anybody know of any brands that run big for 18-24 months, or small for 2T? TIA!

I would buy a few things to carry over, but not much. Chances are she will hit a growth spurt and will fit into the 2T before you know it!

We were at that stage about 2 months ago, just inbetween sizes. Now we are pretty much at 2T (however the poor kid is almost 3) Some 3T stuff from Osh Kosh fits him though.

Re: Nothing fits her!!!

I have a similar but opposite problem... I went fall shopping and bought a ton of cute fleece outfits and sweatshirts and DD had a growth spurt and doesn't fit into any of them... all too small. She was in 6 months in August when I bought it all so I bought 9-12 months... well now she's in 12-18 months ... thank goodness I kept receipts

Carters runs big so 18-24 would be good. Osh kosh runs small for 18-24 and honestly...I am with you...I would have bought dd 2t from gymboree.

Re: Nothing fits her!!!

same here, I bought a whole bunch of 12-18 mo clothes and all the pants are waaay too long. I just went out and bought 4 pairs of 12 mo pants and I'm crossing my fingers that he grows before the cold weather is over so he can wear the other stuff!!!

Re: Nothing fits her!!!

Just try it on her in the store before you exchange it for the 18-24 months. I would just take her to the back of the store and have her try them on.

I have the same problem, I bought Hayley a pair of jeans from Kohls (Sonoma jeans), size 3T. I adjusted the waist to the smallest size and they are still too big (not to mention too long but I expected that). Now I bought her a pair from Childrens Place size 3T and they fit her fine, again too long but I expected it. I am taking her back to try on the 2T, hope they fit because I love them, they are too cute...LOL

Re: Nothing fits her!!!

Hailey was 2 in June and I have the same problem. Most 18 months is too small, yet 24 months and 2T are too big. I can't seem to find a pair of cute jeans that fit her! Kohls has this line of "jumping beans" and they are usually like 5 bucks each. Not the best clothes but you can find some cute stuff. Anyway, the 24 months stuff seems to fit Hailey well, especially after a wash. A few pairs of pants I have to roll the top once but its not bad at all. Also, the $9.99 sets at BRU size 24 months seem to fit the same. Good luck - I hear ya!

The same EXACT thing happened to me but with Spring clothes for DD (also from Gymboree!). I bought the clothes in about April or May, and she is JUST fitting into them now ...and some of the pants, not even yet!

So yeah, she's wearing tulips and pastels in Fall, but oh well!Chat Icon

same exact problem here...

i find DD can wear 2T-3T tops, but bottoms are still 18-24 for most brands. i also bought a bunch of fall colors, some that are season neutral i'm saving for the spring (like black and pink), but others i am considering hemming. i have had no luck finding iron on hemming tape my friend raves about, so out will come the needle and thread. i don't want the clothes to go to waste!

Re: Nothing fits her!!!

we're in the same boat here as well. Sorry I know it can be so frustrating. But at least if you bought bigger she'll have it longer b/c at their age there's no way no matter how petite they are that they will continue to wear 18-24 mos for long.

Re: Nothing fits her!!!

The good thing is that if she is anything like my DD you'll be able to use some of the stuff next year also!

Em has been wearing mostly stuff from last year. Her jeans don't fit her anymore but her shirts/sweaters do. So don't worry, you'll get use out of it. Maybe just exchange a few things, but some might also shrink after you wash them!!

Re: Nothing fits her!!!

Ugh. I know the feeling. I bought cute things in 24 month for Sabrina, expecting she would wear them in the end of the summer and now. Well, they were too big so she only wore them a few times and now the weather has changed and everything else is still the big size.

I did wash some things and found that they shrunk a little bit.
