Anyone else with a BIG baby? I need to vent!

DD is 4 months old and is 26" tall and weighs 16 pounds. Obviously she is big but I am getting so tired of people pointing it out to me and comparing her to other babies - like oh my g-d my baby wasnt that big until almost a year old! It is also hard because both my husband and I are small and we have this big girl.

Emma was 27 inches long and 17 pounds at 4 1/2 months - Everyone always states the obvious - She a tall girl! lol!
All I hear is... wow - she is gonna be tall! - or how old is she? It's annoying sometimes, but mostly I just shrug it off.

Dont listen to what people say, everyone always has a comment. Julia was around the same weight when she was 4 mts old and she was a chub ball!! People use to say things to me to, like oh my god look at how big she is, and that double chin....blablabla. Well she ended up loosing all that chubby weight and went through a BIG growth spurt, now shes slim and tall for her age. Dont worry she will slim out soon enough.

My son was 27 inches 15.3 pounds at his 4 month visit. People tell me all the time how big he is. It doesn't really bother me though.

I would just say "yes she is a beautiful healthy little girl" or something like that... I usually say "yes his is mommy's big boy."

people all say stupid things. Talia is 16 lbs and 8 months old and in oneday I could hear - "wow she is tiny" and "she is big for her age isn't she?" So don't listen to everyone else!!!

DD is very tall for her age and I think people expect her to carry on a conversation! She is 18 mos. and looks like she's 3. I try to ignore the stares when she's acting her age, but it's hard.

My daughter is the biggest chubawub you'll ever see! At 4 months she was about the same weight and height and we got, and still do, get comments ALLLLLLLL THE TIME. But you know what? I love that she's chubby and as healthy as can be. ANd, when she starts crawling and walking a lot of the weight will come off... in the meantime, kiss those little rolls of fat on your baby's tummy and enjoy it while it lasts!

People don't know what the heck they are talking about half the time. They are just looking to make conversation.

DS was long and as a newborn was a little chubby. He's still long/tall at a year, but lost all the chubb and is now skinny and people tell me how small he is They don't know that he is 90% in height - but they still say he's small? People just talk to talk.

Laugh it off. She is healthy and growing and they all grow at different rates.

Kevin was 16 lbs and change and 26 inches at his 3.5 month visit. I love my big baby. I think it is funny everytime someone says big boy.....and then people look at DH and myself and try to figure out where he gets it from.

My son was born BIG so he was at least that size at 4 months. Of course everyone commented on how they thought he was much older than he was, etc. It was sooooo annoying!

I hear it all the time from people at the store and my MOTHER.
People of the public for some reason all have the same comment "Oh boy, that is a big boy you have there. He really is "Healthy"."

I usually just laugh and smile and say "thanks" and wonder to myself, I guess he is big. But he is my 1st, so I have nothing to compare him too. The PED says he is perfect and not off the growth chart or anything...

I get the opposite; "he's so tiny". He's nearly 10 months old and he's almost 19 lbs and he's 29 inches long (he's tall, but skinny). Unfortunately, people are always going to make comments no matter what. You just have to smile and nod.

Don't let them bother you marissa is not even 2 and I had a woman make a comment to her friend while I was in the supermarket look at that 3 year old with a pacifier I turned around and said excuse me but she isn't even 2 she is 20 months. The one woman says oh I'm sorry but she is so big I thought she was three. I jsut turned around and continued to check out. My daughter is just as tall as my friends daughter who is gonna be three at the end of the summer so I wouldn't let it bother you

I would not worry about what anyone else says about your child. My Tati was 16 and a half pounds at 3 months and she just kept getting bigger. By six months she was 22 lbs. It eventually slowed down and she started growing into her weight. I got all those comments even from a pediatrician. She had the nerve to tell me my daughter was obese!!!! I never went back there again. Now my daughter is 4 and weighs 47 lbs but she's also 3 1/2 feet tall. I know she'll be taller than I am. Don't fret over what other people say. YOU know your child is healthy.

Do not worry! Both of my kids are "big" and me and DH are not! We get comments all the time. My son was about 28 ish inches at 4 months. My daughter is the size of a 3 year old girl at 2. Kids grow at their own rates.
