You know what broke my heart today?
I was in Target with my daughter, who is almost 4 and I was looking for an overnight bag for when I stay in the hospital. And as I was looking at bags, she asked me why I needed a bag and I said, "For when I stay at the hospital to have your baby brother, silly." and she got soooooooo upset. And then it dawned on me that we never really explained to her that I have to stay in the hospital for a 4 days (c-section). Here I am thinking that we explained it to her, and we never did and she was so upset. And she never gets upset like that over being without me, but I feel so incredibly sad now for her I really hope she will be ok because it never even dawned on me that she'd have a hard time with me not being home.

That is heartbreaking. I have backtracked my life since Abby's birth and not one day has gone by that I have missed seeing her even if only for a few hours. She will be too young to understand when I am not home for 4 days and I hope she will be able to visit me. I hope it gets easier to explain to her.

This is what worries me the most..and DS is only 14 months (he'll be 19 months when the baby is born), so it's not like I can explain it to him.
We had a "sneak peak" when I had to spend 2 nights in the hospital for my gallbladder. He was sad and sort of melancholy, even though his dad and grandma were around for him, I guess it wasn't the same. My heart breaks when I think about it. 
No advice to give, just

I didn't even think about this... I wonder how my DD is going to handle this. It's unlikely that I'll need a c-section since I didn't need one last time but still... every part of her routine is going to change and then change again.
