what online company do you use? i know there is one that is recommended but can't remember who it is.

I've always done it online and never had a problem. You can access your report immediately.

I just did mine at annualcreditreport.com and it was great. Like someone else said, you just put in your info and it takes you right to your credit report. You can get credit reports from all 3 agencies and you can print them out. Just be careful, one of them (I forget who) tried to sell me other stuff and I had to scroll all the way down to find the button where I could just click and get my free credit report.
