WWYD - crib/bed related

Long story short, my MIL has a drop down crib. It wasn't one of the ones that was recalled, but I hated and wanted to get her a new one. DH didn't think it was necessary Chat Icon . Finally DH agrees with me after seeing that ALL drop down cribs are banned!

DD only naps at my MIL's the four days she takes care of her. Her naps are any where from 45 mins - 2 hrs. MIL thinks we should try and have nap in a twin bed (with rails of coarse). DH also thinks we should try it instead of buying a new crib. I personally don't think she's ready. She moves all over the crib through out the night. My other thought is, she might get confused that she naps over there in a bed and naps and sleeps at our house in the crib.

I'm so torn on what to do. Any suggestions or opinions?

Sorry this was so long, but if you read it all, thank you

How old is your DD? I think that would depend on whether I'd get another crib or not.

I would put her in a bed.

My SIL watches my other SIL's 2 kids and never had a crib. They always napped on the bed and never rolled off. At home the kids napped in the cribs.

I dont think I'd buy a new crib for MY house at 23mos let alone a place she only naps 4 days a week. I'd at least try a PNP or the bed rails first...

Re: WWYD - crib/bed related

i would go with bed.
even if you remove frame and it is just mattress and box spring on ground.
I definitely would not purchase a crib.

Re: WWYD - crib/bed related

both my kids were in twin beds at very young ages.

DS was 13 months old and DD was 8 months old.

since DS was older we just rails with the mattress on the bed frame (platform)

with DD since was a little younger, we started with a mattress on the floor with a bed rail.

also i should note both kids are very restless sleepers, but we NEVER had a problem with them falling out or sleeping.

i would move her to the bed. it would be a waste (IMO) to buy a new crib
