Would you serve birthday cake at this Thanksgiving gathering?
DH's birthday is in November. He already said that he does not want to have a party.
We are hosting a pre-Thanksgiving dinner at our house in mid-November with our friends. It is the same weekend as DH's birthday (2 days after his actual birthday). Guests will be invited to a Thanksgiving dinner, not a birthday party.
Would you serve a birthday cake and sing happy birthday?

I would. But I wouldn't tell anyone about it. Wouldn't want them to feel they needed to give a gift.

Exactly. I wouldn't want anyone to think they should bring a gift. It isn't a milestone or anything. DH is turning 36 yo.
DH and our kids love ice cream cake. I was thinking of getting that as well as pumpkin pie.

Yes my son was born in Thanksgiving Day 14 yrs ago. We serve and sing happy birthday every year.

Absolutely! I always make a birthday cake and we serve and sing happy birthday To my twins on thanksgiving with the family. sometimes DH will get a cake for my birthday too since it's the day before the twins.

Sure!! My sister's bday is on 11/28 and my mom always had bday cake for her on Thanksgiving, some years her bday actually falls right on Thanksgiving. I don't think it takes anything away from the holiday so I vote to serve the bday cake.

Absolutely! My birthday is also 11/28 and there has always been birthday cake during dessert. Now that there are a few of us November babies in my family, we all get our own cakes and everybody sings. We all love it!

We always celebrate my Uncle's birthday on Thanksgiving with a cake since his birthday always falls on or around the holiday--I am so used to it I don't think it's weird at all!

It depends on how you think he would feel about it. My birthday is Nov 25, which occasionally happens on Thanksgiving Day and I *hate* when my bday is lumped in with Thanksgiving.

Def! My birthday is also in November and some years it even falls on the same day as Thanksgiving. Although I really like Thanksgiving, a birthday cake is surely appreciated!

Mine is Nov 24 and I also hate it when it falls the same day of Thanksgiving, that's why even with just the cake, it'd make my day!

I say no. He said he didn't want a party so I would just celebrate on the day of his birthday how he wants. We have multiple family members that have birthdays around thanksgiving and Christmas and we do have cakes for them, but we always celebrate those birthday's together. Instead of getting together on a different date, we just do it when we are together. I don't think it's necessary to have a cake with your friends unless he wants it or it was actually on his birthday.
