Yes, I am getting so sad thinking about how it will be fall soon.
This may sound crazy, but I swear, even the way the sunlight is in late August, the angle of it maybe, it just gives me a bad feeling.
Every year around this time( the next week or so) I will be sitting in my yard on a bright, sunny day and will say- that is "fall" sunlight. This doesn't feel like summer.
I don't know what it is.
I am absolutely fuking nuts, I know, but I just get a bad vibe. Like the cold is coming. Like even the sunlight isn't right.

I know! Its brutal. It totally sucks at night BUT i go in late in the mornings because I dont drop my kids off at school till 9am so thats the flip side. I;ve decided I amm going to make a concerted effort to leave work by 6pm every day so that im home by 6:45 /7 this school year. I think it will help a teeny bit. I swear sometimes i feel like i work an extra half hour-hour because I dont want to go home and deal with all the crap and hope that if i am later my DH will have done it- but ofcourse even when my DH gets home before me.. somehow everyone is just watching tv waiting for me to get home to bathe, get into pj,s, check bags, do homework , make lunches etc. So it totally just bites me in the a**

Same for me too. I notice the sun angle change in mid august.

I literally was just saying this to my co-worker who was trying to shine some positive vibes on the Debbie Downer mood I am in.
I told her that it doesn't matter if its hot for the rest of the month, the air just feels like fall is lurking behind it with that bittch known as Winter waiting to make her entrance as soon as she can and overstay her welcome. The entire summer vibe is gone. It's this feeling of unease that I can't shake.
The earlier and earlier sunsets and the smell and look of everything that was vibrant in color turning grey and brown just takes over. The thought of everything turning into Pumpkin Spice flavor is beyond annoying and all the people on my FB getting excited about it is throat slicing annoying.
It's a depressing time for me and I seriously wish we could skip right to next spring already.

Yup, that is what I am bracing for. If I remember correctly, DS will have a test starting next Friday and then continue with an average of 2-3 each week for the rest of the year. He is in 3rd this year and all my friends who had a child in 3rd last year hated it and said it was brutal for all of them and their children.

DH had the newspaper open and their was a picture with fall foliage in it- all those colors that everyone loves. I said to him deadpan, Those colors mean death. That is the color of what was once green and alive, slowly dying.
He said to me- Please stop it.
We are going to Florida next week for a few days so I can escape it but it's always in the back of my mind.
I really need to live in Florida to be honest. What I am doing here is beyond me.
It is so life and mood affecting.

I NEED to move to Florida!! DH does not understand. I need that constant feel of summer all year round. Whenever we visit my in laws in FL in November, the second I step out of the airport into the heat and sunshine, I LITERALLY feel something happy happening inside of me. My entire mood just shifts to positive and uplifting. I love it!! I told him if he doesn't come I am leaving him behind. I can't tolerate this much longer.

I had a friend who used to live in Florida, then moved to NY. When she was in Florida she didn't need any of her anxiety or depression meds. Living in NY she had to be on the meds again.
When she moved back, she was able to get off all those meds again.
Seasonal Affective Disorder is a real thing.
We are hoping to move in about 10 years. Too long IMO! LOL

Pls I was so depressed about Labor Day coming I went to aruba last week to forget school and winter. I’m already planning my next escape even if it’s for a weekend. Eff Winter!!

today was our first day, it's going to be a big transition- I have one in Pre K and one in 1st- at 2 separate schools, I had to change my hours at work to juggle the pick up and drop offs- thankful my boss is flexible. Not looking forward to homework.... but they were excited which is great, good luck everyone!

What grade is he in?
Mine is in 6th at the middle school this year, but fortunately homeroom through 3rd period are all in the same classroom!

Many of the kids in our grade have accordion folders. Does he have one of those? I feel like it helps them stay more organized. Ours has like 8 slots or so, and I put the name of each class on the tabs, and all homework and notes go in there. It definitely helps! My son used one all up through 12th grade, and it was definitely key to him staying organized (he has special needs and is VERY disorganized!)

Yes he has the accordion type folder. Unfortunately, he is still disorganized or will forget the folder. He's just a mess, I am hoping this year he is a little bit better.

Today the sun had that awful angle to it as I walked in to work. I have been in Florida all week where it was 87 degrees and humid and sunny and the sun does not take on that "fall" angle.
I didn't like how this morning felt.

Every year around this time( the next week or so) I will be sitting in my yard on a bright, sunny day and will say- that is "fall" sunlight. This doesn't feel like summer.
I don't know what it is.
I am absolutely fuking nuts, I know, but I just get a bad vibe. Like the cold is coming. Like even the sunlight isn't right.

I literally was just saying this to my co-worker who was trying to shine some positive vibes on the Debbie Downer mood I am in.
I told her that it doesn't matter if its hot for the rest of the month, the air just feels like fall is lurking behind it with that bittch known as Winter waiting to make her entrance as soon as she can and overstay her welcome. The entire summer vibe is gone. It's this feeling of unease that I can't shake.
The earlier and earlier sunsets and the smell and look of everything that was vibrant in color turning grey and brown just takes over. The thought of everything turning into Pumpkin Spice flavor is beyond annoying and all the people on my FB getting excited about it is throat slicing annoying.
It's a depressing time for me and I seriously wish we could skip right to next spring already.
Wow well said. That's exactly how I feel. And I thought I was only one who started to feel it in august!
Today the sun had that awful angle to it as I walked in to work. I have been in Florida all week where it was 87 degrees and humid and sunny and the sun does not take on that "fall" angle.
I didn't like how this morning felt.
I swear I was thinking the same thing!! It's a different sun  The air also smells different.
It is going to be such a long time until Spring
