i dont think ANYONE is going to lower taxes
that is what they talk about because it is what people want to hear - NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
Amen, I can't imagine anyone LOWERING taxes. They can say they're going to do XYZ all they want, it doesn't mean squat once they're elected.

I think everyone knows I do not support Obama. HOWEVER, this is NOT that new. He plainly stated in one of the debates (I believe the first one) that his plan includes tax cuts for Americans making under $150k, no tax change for those making between $150k and $250k, and tax increases for those making over $250k.
I don't agree with many of his policies - but I'm pretty sure he's been clear on this one. However, he does like to phrase it as "people making under $250k will not see a tax increase." Sounds better than spelling it all out.

I didn't read the articles. No offense (really) because i was just saying today that I would almost guarantee that this is how it's going to go down (despite Obama promising 95% of people getting more money, etc....), BUT, 1) until either one is elected, everything is speculation and 2) if and when it does happen, i think it would hold more value coming from a credible source (meaning the media source... not commenting on your crdibility lol).
Still, i'm sure it will happen if they're elected.

it's still an escalated taxing system though, so even if they cut tax on the $150k range, wouldn't people making over that pay less taxes on the first $150k and more on the amounts over $250K? so maybe it won't impact people in the lower range of $250k that much.
Does anyone know if either candidate is thinking of getting ride of the exemption for capital gains tax on sales of homes owned over 2 years?

Regardless of who will be voted for.
WE will ALL pay.
There is no way we cannot pay more taxes or get taxes decreases.
Not in the financial mess we are all in.
So it will be either... yes, I promised no taxes, but NOW I realize what mess we really are in and I had no idea at the time OR I just wanted to be elected.
OR
Yes, we will have tax increase, I told you before we were in a mess. Oh and I lied when I said less than $x,y,z.... Now it's everybody who willl pay.
Same thing!!!! I am just ready for it already. Less money at home, barely an income for DH. Same old! Every will be higher and less and less money to buy it.
