Wegman's, Wegman's, Wegman's. From what I hear, it's food heaven.

More Shoprites. LI only has five and two are in the same town! Their sales are usually much better than anybody except possibly Pathmark.

Super Targets, and to a lesser extent, Super Walmarts. The unions will NEVER let this happen though. Riverhead already shot down a Super Walmart on 58.

The checkout girl in Target in Setauket said they were turning that one into a Super Target next year!!!! Im so excited!!

I wish we had Wegmans (they have them in S. Jersey - they are amazing - we would go there for lunch!)

and a Sonic - not crazy about their food, but I love their shakes

and a Chik-fil-a.

Re: Which stores/restaurants do you wish Long Island had?

It's funny how everyone wants these chain places. I grew up in the Hudson Valley of NYS and when that's all you know, you absolutely hate it!

I've never had Sonic though.

There's a DQ by my parent's house and it sucks. The ice cream is always way too liquidy and gross.

There's a place up there I used to go to all the time called "Stewarts" that is good too. They sell their own ice cream.

We used to go to Denny's all the time too and the Old Country Buffet!!!

Totally agree! I am in S. Florida now, after living in Hampton Bays for quite some time. While Sonic is yummy, you start longing for the great restaurants of NY! I never thought that I was taking all of my favs for granted! Yes, I love some of those places-Cracker Barrel, Sonic, Publix, etc...I miss pizza and pancakes by my parents who live in Port Jeff (especially now since I am pregnant!) and Bobby Van's and Buttercup Bake Shop in NYC!

Yeah, but you totally need a Sonic on LI! Chat Icon

Also Dillards. I like it better than Lord and Taylor. I am in Florida and I will give up every Sonic for a real New York Pizzeria

SONIC all the way!

They just opened 2 Sonics here in Northern Jersey - However the lines are RIDICULOUS! I tried to go with Jess (davenjess) and her DH not long ago and they were actually not letting anymore cars in!

We have a couple of Wegmans here in Jersey too, but not close by Chat Icon

Wegmen's is amazing.

As someone who is no long on LI, I wish we had diners! There are a few, but none nearly as great as ones on LI.

Re: Which stores/restaurants do you wish Long Island had?

Krispy Kreme (again). We used to have a lot of KK, but they all closed.... Chat Icon I have pics of my PT Cruiser with their PT in front of the Riverhead KK.

Roy Roger's (again). We used to have a lot of those as well. The only one left is in Mastic.... I still go there once in a while, but it's a long drive just for chicken, so I only hit it when I'm in the area, or passing through.

I couldn't believe when this just opened! It's not in a very out in the open area either so I don't understand how they think it's going to survive when none of them survived on LI before!

Dairy Queen - it's probably a good thing that they are not here or I'd be eating Blizzards and Buster Bars all the time.

Jimmy John's Sandwiches - the closest one is PA

Noodles & Co - a chain of restaurants (like Panera) serving noodle dishes. Asian, Mediterrean and American, some healthy, some not. It's perfect for families with children.

ETA:

Archiver's - a scrapbooking store with classes, scrap & crop nights

I wish there was a Cracker Barrel on LI. I love that place!

me too! i was just going to post this!

Also, Wegman's grcoery store is awesome... they have them in PA and upstate NY.

I also love Turkey Hill stores... they're like 7-11's in PA, but they carry all the Turkey Hill ice-creams and iced teas.

I agree with Wegman's! I went to school in Syracuse and fell in love with that supermarket.

That and I wish we had Wawa here.
