Where to go for an eye exam & contacts?
Please recommend a reasonable place to go for an eye exam & contacts. we don't have a vision plan.
last year DH went to a place near us in Holbrook (I think it was Pearl) and it was really 
thanks!

I go to my sister, she is an eye doc. (Pearl vision) I know they are expensive. did you try a place like Wise Eyes? Sometimes these places have free eye exams, and sometimes Pearl Vision etc have free eye exams as a promotion. HTH

I don't think there is a Wise Eyes near us.
I would like for it to be a local place.

I've gone to lenscrafters in walt whitman mall. I started going there when I was 15 and never had any problems. I see the same doc and the prices are fairly reasonable. I usually just order my contacts online but they do price match.

I always go to Davis Vision to get my eye exam (without insurance) & then order my contacts through Visiondirect.com bc they are MUCH cheaper then at the eye places...

I really like my optometrist - I don't have vision coverage & I think it was either $100 or $125 for the exam and then I get my contacts through 1-800-Contacts. Dr. Moylan, North Shore Advanced Eye Care. 631-642-2020 on Hallock Ave, Port Jefferson Station

mom and dad go to costco too for their eye exams and glasses. Much cheaper and they don't have a vision plan either.

nope, not at the one in Islandia anyway. you can get glasses and cotacts there, but they don't give eye exams

I go to All About Eyes, it is in Sayville on Main st, Actually very close to Collins and Main. Love the Dr there. Great selection of glasses.

Costco, my dad uses them and loves them. My company uses Davis Vision but they might be on the expensive side w/o a plan.
