Do You Put Food Out On The Table And Everyone Takes What They Like Or Do YYou Put Food On The Plates And Bring The Plates To The Table?

when you serve your family dinner...
Depends on who it is - just me and DH, I plate the food in the kitchen and bring to the table. When we have a group over, I usually will put the food on serving dishes and place on the table family style.

Same here, except the salad bowl goes on the table. We eat a ton of salad..

This! I know exactly what DH likes/what he wants more of/less of/etc., so plating for him is a no brainer. I would feel weird plating the food for company.

In my ideal world everything would be hot and on the table and everyone helps set the table and we say a prayer before we eat.
In my real world I hurriedly shovel food onto my kids plates and they come and get them. I often don't eat with them because I am not relaxed at that time and don't have an appetite!

I plate the kids' food - (6,5,2 yrs old.) and My DH and I serve ourselves from the pots on the oven or the dishes next to the oven.
But if we have company I bring everything to the table in dishes and everyone helps themselves at the table

Really depends on what we are having.. If its a pasta dish I will put a big bowl on the table so everyone can help themselves to what they want.. but if it is something like chicken where I made 1 for everyone I will just put that on a plate and put the sides are and set the table that way.

For me, i serve the kids and DH when dinner is ready. We had FIL over fro dinner once night and i served him his plate and he looked at me like it was Christmas, i guess MIL had never served him a plate, he always got his own. i have just always done it without thinking about it, DH never complained, lol
ETA: If there is more than just DH and the kids or MIL and FIL i will put it all out and have people service themselves.

Just DH and me.
We plate in the kitchen then bring to table or in the den if we are going to watch TV while eating.
For company, I place into serving bowls and dishes on the table, then everyone helps themselves.
Growing up, mom always placed the food into serving bowls and put it on the table. We all helped ourselves.
