When you first introduced water

Did you do it as a feeding, feeding suppliment, or just sips throughout the day?

The ped told me to give Anthony 3-4 oz of water a day, but didn't really specify how to. How did you do it?

Re: When you first introduced water

water does not replace a feeding of BM or forumula.

We introduced to DS when he was about 5 months old - it was spring/summer so I would giv eit to him periodically just so he was hydrated. I would also bring to a store if I was out but he wasnt due to eat to keep him happy for a little big if he got antsy.

Re: When you first introduced water

That sounds like a lot of water for an infant. I wouldn't do it all in one sitting, as too much water can cause an imbalance in sodium levels. You also shouldn't replace a feeding with water since there is no nutrional value in it.

Re: When you first introduced water

I would give it when they were hungry in the afternoon and it wasnt time for a bottle.

My ped said that they shouldnt drink more than one ounce at a time and no more than 3 ounces a day. My kids are almost nine months.
