When do you think we can travel for vacation again?
I know no one really knows the answer to this but when do you think realistically we'll be able to travel for leisure? There are so many reason why this Covid situation is awful but the inability to look forward to a vacation has me extra down and feeling claustrophobic.

I have a trip to Bermuda booked for July 4-11 and I am hoping to take it but it's looking less and less likely. I think 4-6 months.

I think by fall.
Some states are already starting the phases to reopen.
Is travel really banned everywhere right now? I haven’t check but if I wanted to fly to the Bahamas is the US not allowing it? Or are countries not going to let us in?

I think it won't be until there is a vaccine.
I would possibly consider a domestic trip but I wouldn't be going to any islands. If I was to get sick I wouldn't want to be in another country.
I can completely relate. My planned trips are what keeps me going and it's very depressing to have no vacation plans for moving forward

I didn’t think there were any travel restrictions right now but many places are closed. I don’t expect travel to pick up until fall. We were planning to take the kids to LEGO land it they are not opening until 2021 now. I wonder when Disney will open

I feel like when Disney opens that will be the sign to be able to travel!!
I have a trip planned for December I’m still planning as if I’m going though I feel like the chances are slim. Still hoping things will be open again by fall.
Reality is we can’t stay in forever you have to start letting people out and let natural herd immunity begin!

We have a trip planned to Hershey park in the first week of sept. I doubt it’s gonna happen.

Certain countries have banned it sort of. For example, in Germany (that’s OK everyone can roll their eyes now, lol) I can’t travel out on certain borders without a good reason. I can get back in because I have permanent residency, but it is hard to travel out of. I would probably have to go into quarantine for 14 days after coming back because they would notify officials. But people who aren’t citizens or residents cannot do this, so yes the borders are closed to tourists.
This absolutely sucks because I would love to do a day trip to Salzburg right about now, but I can’t  because I don’t want to do a 14 day quarantine.

I think it’s going to be awhile. One of my friends wanted to go to Hilton Head because her entire family is there and she’s self isolating in her apt and very lonely. Her dad told her to come but then they found out they are stopping Ny residents and making them self quarantine for 14 days so she couldn’t even go to their house and hotels are not allowing people with any NY license plates to stay (she was driving down).
I keep checking on her daily because this really depressed her. I had a panic attack because I couldn’t reach her the other day and was about to call the police for a wellness check. She called me back and was like relax, I took a long hot bath and had music on and didn’t bring my phone in the bathroom. I think I lost nearly 10 years off my life thinking the worst.

Unfortunately, for international... I don't believe until 2021.... some are saying 2022.
I am crying over my lost trips.... we saved and saved and waited and waited for these special moments and now both trips will have to be cancelled. it is heartbreaking.

I am crying over my lost trips.... we saved and saved and waited and waited for these special moments and now both trips will have to be cancelled. it is heartbreaking.
My mom is a TA and she is so upset for so many of her clients. She had several large party trips that had to be cancelled. She feels so horribly for them.
She did say that they are booking trips to Europe for next year so I guess it is anticipated people will travel next year. I agree that once Disney opens, it will be a sign.
My brother is a pilot and he is still working. The flights are just drastically cut.

So that's like 5 people-well really 4 plus my brother- on the flight plus crew. I asked him where people were going and he told me he doesn't commonly question passengers on their travels.

I have a house in Florida and we have traveled here to not have to deal with COVID in NY. It's not a big deal. You can still book travel, although schedules are minimal.
Flights are empty. Planes have industrial grade HEPA filters that pull outside atmospheric air so the air quality on a plane is probably better than a supermarket. Sit in a window seat and wipe down the surfaces and you are good.
Florida had a 14 day quarantine for anybody coming from NY. We did this for 14 days, we are technically good now, although stuff down here is as much closed as stuff in NY so it's not like we are going anywhere outside of the supermarkets/target/etc.
Planes continue to fly because they still have to maintain a minimum amount of flights to maintain their airport "slots", or lose them.

I'm hoping by the end of Oct.
My daughter, son in law and 4 grandkids are coming the end of Oct so my daughter can run in the NYC Marathon. They are going to be here for 10 days. But we're not too hopeful. Will the marathon still go on? Will the shops be open? Museums? Things to do with the kids?
Right now it's all up in the air.

Not real easy IMO. More a threat than anything else. After we came down they started putting troops at the airports and at the i95 border for drivers. They took down your info/address, gave you a pamphlet that explains the quarantine executive order, and i guess they threaten that they can show up at your house to do an inspection of you being there or face fines/jail/etc.
ETA if you get pulled over in your car, another way to get busted i guess if you are in their system.

This upsets me. I really want to see my family. I miss them so much.
I just want to see my mom and dad so much.
But I have kind of mentally prepared myself for the worst.

They have to keep 20% of their workload or they lose federal funding and something else that I can't remember right now. Some of the flights are literally just the crew.

They have to keep 20% of their workload or they lose federal funding and something else that I can't remember right now. Some of the flights are literally just the crew.

I see empty flights with 1 person all the time in my Delta group. Many of the planes have tons of cargo on them though.
