When did you or do you plan to do Disney for the first time?
We are eventually planning on going for a day trip since DH's mom lives in Ocala, but I was curious as to when everyone did it or will do it and what is a "good" age?
I have only been when I was five and DH went a couple of times, but remembers nada so we are dumb
Since we don't know if we are going to have a family reunion we thought we may go and stay with MIL and take a day trip, but that would be in July/August
Help!

I've never been, but DH has been. We are planning to take DD when she is 3 or 4 years old.

We went to disney last summer, the girls were 10 months. we had so much fun. the girls went on rides and enjoyed magic kindgom (fantasyland) and epcot (nemo) and the shows at mgm.
edited: we went in august, it was extremely hot, so we bought stroller fans at BBB and went into a lot of AC

We went with my entire family...my niece was 5 - the rest of the kids were 3 and under. 5 was the perfect age - the younger ones - well, it was just too much for them really - long days - really hot - and very exhausting.
That being said - I know that my family is planning a Disney cruise (probably next year) and of course I'll still go even though Jack prob. won't know what's going on. I'm not one to pass up a free trip!

Thats how I was with the cruise and it was tough Fun, but tiring.
I don't know, since it is only for a day, that is why I am thinking earlier (since I don't remember it and I was 5 ) and b/c I loathe Ocala

I suggested we take the boys later this year but DH said he wants to wait until we can get "credit" for taking them. He's like what's the point if they can't remember it.

We went when DS was 11 months old - because we had the opportunity to go with my brother and his family. While we had fun, there was nothing that interested an 11 month old Now that we have 2 kids, we have no plans to go back until they are 4 or older.

B/c money was an option we waited until DD #1 was 5. This way she would have vivid memories and enjoy it more!
If money wasn't an option I would have taken her at a year old. It think it is a wonderful experience for any age!
It's just at 1 they won't remember it like a 5 or 6 year old would. BUT it'll definitley stimulate them and will open up little windows in their brains.

The first time I took my oldest son to disney was when he was 5yrs old. He is now 10 and still remembers it. However we did go again with family when I had my 2nd son (happened to be the wk he turned 1) there wasn't too much to do with him and he's now going on 3 and I don't think he even knows he went  However we had a great time  We will be going again but we just had another son who will be 1 next mo but dh wants to wait until he's 5yrs old therefore they will remember it because dh hates disney so we will only be making the trip 1 more time

We went in December when my DD was 21 months--she loved every second of it. I say if you have the $ anytime is a perfect time for Disney! Who knows what the future holds 5 years down the line. Ideally 5-6 is a perfect age to take them for them to remember it. But pictures are priceless too

We are going in Feb and DD will be 6 months. We are only going b/c we are meeting up with my brother and his kids (who are 3 & 6) and my parents are going as well. We had planned on going away in Feb since I'm going back to work at the end of the month and we decided to go with them to Disney since I don't get to see my bro/nephews that often since they don't live in NY

we are going in approx 11 days Bryan wil be 3 in june and he is so excited he runs around saying " 2 weeks till mickey mouse!!" Its very cute.

We can't wait (especially my DH!) to go!! I think we'll probably hold off for another 2 years though...maybe 3. That way all of the children can really enjoy it. If we wait 3 years, Katherine will be 5, Abby 3.5 and ????
