What's your plan as to how to not end up back on this board too soon?

DH just asked me recently if I'm planning on going back on bc pills once is here. I spent so many months trying to get a regular cycle after stopping bcp that I'm not sure I want to go back on them. I definitely don't want an "oops" though, so I guess it's back to bcp I go. What is your plan?

I haven't decided yet because I really don't want to go back on bcp. I didn't mind being on them but I just like the break from them and not having to remember to take them every day.

I think we'll wait and see how my body is after the pregnancy and whether BCP might be good to regulate me or not.

But likely we might just go with NFP.

I plan to BF and I don't think you can while you are on BC. I went off BC over a year before I got prego and 6/7 months before we started trying and we just used the pull method or condoms. Not as fun but it worked for us, also not 100% fool proof.

I will probably go back on BCP, i don't have many options with ym family history and i scared of the IUD.

I haven't decided yet, mostly because I haven't decided if we want more children.

If I knew I wasn't I would get an IUD.

But since I don't know, we'll have to figure it out. I'm not going on BC or any other types of hormones.

I really don't want to go on BCP again...I was on them for SO many years...

We are going to start trying for #2 by the end of 2011/beginning of 2012 (We said around DS's 1st birthday, give or take a few months)..

So I may end up on this board again sooner rather than later.

I'm turning 32 in early March, DH turns 36 in August, and we want to be young with our kids

I'm planning on breastfeeding anywhere from 3-6 months, so if my OB thinks I should go on BCP at least for a little while, I'll follow his advice.

I would like to talk to my OB about going on Mirena shortly after giving birth. I only want one child, and the only way I would currently consider another is through adoption or foster care. This was a decision DH and I made a long time ago. DH is 100% willing to get a vasectomy (he doesn't want me to get my tubes tied as it's a much more major procedure for me than for him). However, I don't want to put him through that until a few years from now when we decide a) if we want a second child, and b) what the adoption process is like. Mirena seems like the best option for us, but we'll see what my OB says!

we used condoms after our son was born - even though we didn't have to it turned out - did not get AF until after I stopped BFing son at a year

after this one= DH will get a vasectomy - we are done

after DD was born I didnt go back on the pill because I knew we would want #2 eventually and I hate how the pill makes me feel. We did NFP during that time and it worked out pretty well. After this baby, we will do the same because we are pretty sure we'll want to go for a third. and after THAT, I am hoping DH will go for the snip!

With DS we used condoms prior to me going back on bc. Then I went on, but was really bad with it and eventually stopped taking it and we were lucky I guess.

With this one I am going to get an IUD asap!

Condoms. I hated my body on BCP, I will never go back. When we are 100% done having kids, DH will get a vasectomy. He has already offered it up because he knows how miserable I was on BCP.

I want irish twins. I want to knock them both out one after another so I do not have a prevention plan. Once the second comes, its chop chop for DH

depending on how long AF stays away while breastfeeding and such we'll probably just go back to using condoms until we try for #2. We dont want too big of a gap between the two. I hated being on BCP so that wont happen.

Going back on bcp and when we are 100% sure we aren't having anymore babies, DH will get a vasectomy.

Not hanging out with a specific group of my friends One of the ladies in that group has a 17 month old and an 8 month old, and the other will have almost 13 months between her two when the second is born. DH told me I'm not allowed to see them after Nugget is born

But seriously, we will probably use condoms. I've never been able to find a BCP that didn't make me violently ill for the first three days (even the low dose ones).

I think I am going to try Mirena. I had paragard put in after the twins, and it was so awful.
I can't do BCP because of my clotting issue. I know we're done having kids after this one, but I can't bring myself to have anything permanent done.

I am also considering Mirena. Because I have high blood pressure not PG and my mom got a blood clot from BCP my OB/GYN doesn't think at my age it is safe to take. If not Mirena then condoms. I am prety sure we are only having this one I am not ready for any permanet solutions yet.

We don't have a plan. That's how I ended up on this board in the first place I'd imagine we'll use condoms and I'll try to do a better job of counting days this time around. But we're very laid back about it, and feel like if it's meant to be, it's meant to be. I mean, if we're on our fourth or something, yeah, then it'll be time to pull in the reins, but for now, we'll just try to be a little more careful. I want to go on my HM eventually
