What's the deal with parking at the Paramount?

I'm going there this weekend to see Primus.

Haven't been there yet, and according to their website, they recommend parking at the LIRR station and taking a trolley to the venue. Is there parking around the venue at all? I don't mind walking at all, especially if it means that I don't have to take a trolley, but I don't know if parking is only for residents of the area or whatever.

Thanks.

Re: What's the deal with parking at the Paramount?

I work in Huntington and there are def places to park. I would suggest you arrive at least 2 - 3 hrs b/f the show starts maybe grab some drinks or dinner. The parking places will go so you want to be there early. There are plenty of side streets to park on. If you take NY Ave down to Main Street (there is a light) and make that left, take main street 2 blocks to Clinton Ave. Make the right on Clinton, there is a huge municipal parking lot there. Here is a map Just zoom in on the map to see the streets.

Good Luck & have fun!

Park behind Besito and walk over. It's like 2-3 blocks.

We parked in a lot around the block. Maybe 2 blocks over. There are plenty of spots.

It's a great place for a show!

Re: What's the deal with parking at the Paramount?

i was concerned about parking too - i went there for a show on a sunday night and there was plenty of street parking on the side streets and in the parking lots
i didn't want to have to bother with the trolley from the train station and we got lucky and didn't have to
i think on a Sat night, it might be different though since more people would be there for restaurants/bars etc and parking would be scarcer

#1. How dare you come to the Island without telling me?

#2. Parking is a bitcch. There small town lots, meter lots/spots all over the price. Find a spot wherever you can and walk, wherever you park won't be too far.

Psssshhhhh. You know I only venture east of the boroughs for IKEA or live music. Very few exceptions to that rule! Thanks for the info. I don't care if I have to walk, I just don't dig getting on a fkn trolley like I'm going to the magic kingdom or something.

Re: What's the deal with parking at the Paramount?

THere are municipal lots that anyone can park in. But it's a very busy area, so parking could be tough, or you could quickly get a spot. I would personally chance it and get there a good hr early to find parking.

We got there early & parked in the public lot on Elm Street. Our friends parked in the public lot on East Carver.

This.

BUT...I agree with whoever suggested getting there about 2-3 hours beforehand because parking on the weekends (Fri-Sun) PACKS OUT.

The lot behind Besito isn't metered so that one, in particular fills up FAST but it will be very convenient.

I was just there last week for a concert and there was not a spot in a lot, but plenty of street parking on the side streets (not main/NYA, etc) off Elm

We were there 2+ hours before the main band and hung out at Meehan's for drinks and apps

FYI - Pay attention to your alcohol intake. Residents don't like the Paramount and police have checks all over the place

Sweet, thanks for the heads up. Will get there early for dinner, I think. Drinks are always so expensive at shows. Chat Icon
