What to tip newspaper dliverer?

We get Newsday daily and I have no idea how much to tip for the month....When I delivered, I got about $0.30 per week from each family!! Generous was $0.50 and anything over was amazing.

So, what do we tip nowadays/??

back in 'those' days, didn't the deliverer ride around on his bike, to deliver the papers and it was a 'kid'. "Nowdays" the adult drives around in their car...tip? hmmm...I haven't yet, since the bill comes in the mail, and he dosen't even come to the door to collect it anymore. World of difference....When you find out, let me know.

We have our home delivery charged directly to our CC, so they automatically add in the tip for us.

We should find out what it is shouldn't we?

Yep that was me on the bike in the rain with those Sunday Newsdays --- the whole paper came on SUnday then, not half on Sat and half on Sunday!!

Well my delivery person definitely walks up the path and places the paper on the front porch as opposed to just throwing it on the lawn. So I gave $4.00 for the month....doesn't break me, and makes sure we keep kgetting the paper right in front of the front door I suppose...

I do the CC thing as well for Newsday. I gave the guy a $20 tip at Christmas

We only get the Sunday newspaper delivered which is $1.50 and I give the girl a $1 tip. It's a lot but I feel silly giving her only 50 cents. If I got it all week, I'd probably give $3 tip.

I was just wondering if anyone who gets the Newsday delivered lives in the Valley Stream, Lynbrook, Malverne area. The reason why is that my FIL delivers in those areas (actually he has been deliving in those areas for 30 years) so I was just wondering if my FIL delivers to any of my "LIF Friends".

My mom lives in Lynbrook....Noble House Apt.s and she gets Newsday. We got it when we were in Malverne too, but mom sold the house in '97...

i receive the paper, and have a great delivery persom, who delivered the paper through every snow storm this past winter.he gets an extra buck a week, i guess thats normal, at Christmas he gets an extra $5.
