What time do you plan on trick-or-treating this year?
Halloween has never fallen on a Saturday for DS yet. It's always been on a weekday when we have to find time either right before or right after dinner to trick-or-treat. Since it's on a weekend this year, I'm curious to know what time most people plan to take their kids trick-or-treating. In the afternoon or still waiting until after dark?

We've never waited until after dark to trick or treat. We've always gone after school. By the time we get out, get home, and into costumes, we are usually out by 3:30/4ish. One year it was on a Saturday and we went out around 2:30/3ish.

We'll still be doing night. We have a small event that we'll be going to at 5pm so we'll do that like usual and then trick-or-treat afterwards. I don't want to head out too early and have people not ready for us yet. Speaking of, this reminds me to make sure that *I'm* ready. lol. I'll have to make sure to get the candy all set up earlier this year. Hopefully nobody comes knocking on my door during nap time.

DD is in a parade in my neighborhood at 12. Then we're going up to my IL's around 2. She's not even 2 yet, so it's not so much trick or treating as it is just going to see everyone lol.

What time do you plan on trick-or-treating this year?
I'm planning to go out around 3ish. I usually follow the lead of those in the neighborhood though.

Um, yeah, I hope not too. Maybe we will leave a bowl outside just in case.
We will go around dusk, 5/6pm when people can do their porch light thing to let us know whether we should knock!

I was wondering this too!
Most areas other than LI have trick or treating hours, and people turn their porch lights on to let people know they are participating. I prefer that way (grew up in the Midwest) rather than the LI way where people come all hours of the day/night.

im hoping to go sometime between 4pm-5:30pm... anytime within there is good for me. because id like dd to keep her bedtime routine which starts around 6:30 on days she doesnt nap, and she will need dinner somewhere in there too.

What time do you plan on trick-or-treating this year?
1:30 after the Halloween parade in town. There's a neighborhood in our town where everyone participates in Halloween and the people decorated their houses over the top and they all come out to their porches and set up the candy there. Literally 50 houses!
It's like a HS reunion for us lol all of our friends take their kids too

We will probably go around 11ish.
I know you didn't ask but that sounds so early - especially because many have sports on Saturday mornings (games and all) and won't be home until the afternoon. Just something to think about :)
