what size is your 2 year old wearing?
I'm just curious as to how much toddlers grow in a year from 12-24 months old.. great deals on clothes out there and I want to buy some for next year.. Ds is currently size 12-18mo I'm thinking 24months for next year or do you think I should go to 2T?

Every kid is different so it's hard to guess. DS1 was in 18 months on his first bday. On his 2nd bday he was in 3T shirts and 2T pants. 4 months later (now) he's in 4T tops and 3T bottoms. I was never one of those moms who could buy a year in advance because my kids just grow too fast there's no way to tell. Even my 5 month old is almost in 12 month clothing right now.

DS is 28 months old and wears 18 to 24 months still...but he is so skinny!
I had bought him a bunch of summer clothes 2T but they are all too big so he is wearing his summer clothes from last year!

every kid is different. I would probably go for 2T for the next year.
My 2 year old DD wears 12, 18, 24 months, and 2T shorts. and shirts that are 2T and 3T. My 1 year old is wearing just about the same size.

every child is different, my DD has been wearing 12-18 months since she was 6 months old...
depending on the name brand she is 23 months old and wears 12-24/2T clothes.
she can even wear some 3T clothes... her normal daily wear is 18-24 though

2T in most stuff. Some places tend to run small, so he does wear some 3T as well.

DD will be 2 in 2 weeks and she is wearing 3T tops and 2T bottoms. My friends DD is the exact same age and she is wearing 18 month bottoms and 2T tops so really every child is different.

DD is 20 months old. From 11 months until now she has been in 18-24 month pants. Just now some things are 2T pants. In the same time frame she has gone from 18-24 month tops to both 2T and 3T shirts. Most of her clothing is 2T now. I stay away from buying shorts before the season. What I do buy are shirts both short and long sleeve and pants. I feel like you get a lot more mileage out of those things. I buy shorts on sale in the current season. For DS who is consistent in size and almost 4 I am able to get him clothing ahead of time including shorts. I think the 2 year old time frame is a hard one when buying clothing.

I can never buy ahead for my DS, he just grows too fast. I thought his growth would slow down after 12 months but he grew 2.5 inches between 15-18 months alone, and hasn't stopped and he's 20 months. He wore 18-24 months in the fall/winter but by Feb/March the clothes were too small, is in 2T now but there's not much room, will be in 3T by the fall this year.

DS is will be 2 in the next few days and I only have 2T clothing. They are starting to run small on him, so I have to buy 3T for the rest of the summer.

Ian is 20 months and wears 24m or 2T. at his 18m visit he was 26lbs and 34in. but he definitely got taller since then.

Kaydyn has always been on the smaller side. At 1yr she was pretty much in 12mo clothes, maybe 6-9 in some pants. At 2yo she was in mostly 24months (2T was sometimes too big on her and some 2T fit her) shirts and 18month pants.

Almost exactly the same, except my DS has an average torso, which brings him in at about 34".
I've never been able to buy clothes for him even one season in advance, forget about one year in advance. He changes sizes too quickly.

She wears 24m for bottoms and 3T for tops...
She is tall and skinny (with no hips nor butt lol)....she is 27lbs and almost 39 inches tall

Lauren will be 2 in 5 weeks and is still wearing 18 month size, which stinks because i bought so many summer size 24 month clothes, i hope she can wear them before summer is over...

thanks everyone you helped me with my question.. I was trying to see just differences in sizes from 1 year to 2 year to know how much toddler's weight/sizes really levels off.. I can get an idea now on what to expect.

Landon was wearing 3T at 2 years, but 2T at 1 year.
So if at 1 year he is wearing 12 months you should be OK with 2T for next year... just don't buy too much!
