Re: What do you think of the Doc-in-a Boxes?
I went to one about a month ago after I had a mountain biking accident. I knew I needed stitches. I was in and out of there in about an hour (they actually put me at the front of the line since I was bleeding). I knew if I went to the ER, I'd be there for the rest of the day and it would have cost a lot more than $275, which was the total amount of the bill.

What do you think of the Doc-in-a Boxes?
I didn't read all responses but I love them!
Last year I was coughing for months. My GP said post nasal drip/allergies and did nothing for me. Was even rude like "when you find a solution you let me know Bc I've been suffering since I was 16". Finally after 3mos out of desperation I went to a walk in on a Sunday.
He rx me an antibiotic and after 1 dose. Like literally 30m after my one dose my coughing was cut in half. I was so relieved I want to marry that walkin doc. I've been to him since. He's awesome Bc he is always like use steam, get rest, drink chicken soup...and offers old school remedies too.

Re: What do you think of the Doc-in-a Boxes?
Our co-pay is an extra $20 above what we would pay for a regular MD visit, but $50 less than the ER. So, if the choice is there or the ER, I go there, but if the choice is there or the MD, we go to the MD. The adult one that is closest to me though really doesn't help me avoid the ER since it is only open until 8pm.

Re: What do you think of the Doc-in-a Boxes?
I'm sure not all are created equally... While the convenience is great, my 2 experiences at 2 separate pediatric ones have not been great. The first seemed like we had an overworked young doctor with no experience. In a separate visit to a different office fracture was missed. Thankfully I followed my on intuition and followed up with a pediatric ortho.
For us the copay is the same as a regular Dr's visit.

Re: What do you think of the Doc-in-a Boxes?
I've used them before when I was sick and needed to be seen immediately. What I liked the best was that they saw that I was dehydrated and hooked me up to an IV immediately. My PCP would never do that!
I've used the pediatric urgent care for my kids and LOVE LOVE LOVE them. The staff is there to get you in and out and I love that more than anything.
I pay a $50 copay for urgent care, which to me is expensive so I only use them if it's a true emergency.

I like them. I've had different experiences at different ones.
