What do you clean your hardwood floors with?

I need some ideas on cleaning my hardwood floors. The entire downstairs of my home is hardwood except for DH's study room.

1 part vinegar 3 parts water

dampen a mop and use that do not saturate the floor

I tried the vinegar and water and must have done it wrong b/c I got water spots all over the floor .

I use Miniwax hardwood floor cleaner (from HD) and love it, floors look great!

We use Murphy's oil, according to pkg directions.

My cleaning girl uses vinegar and water, but in between her visits I use Method squirt and mop (love the scent).

I'm glad someone brought this up, my floors never look the way I would like. The Swiffer IMO leaves the floors cloudy looking. DH redid my wood floors last year and they have lost the shine.

I use Kona Hardwood Cleaner from BBB. DH is obsessed with our floors and will not let me use anything else to clean, no water, etc.

I use the Swiffer for everyday and when I break down and get out the mop, I do the vinegar. Someone here once posted that you should use cold water with the vinegar for the best shine and it's true. I was using warm before that and saw a big difference with the cold.

I use method hardwood floor cleaner.

I use Bruce's hardwood floor cleaner from Home Depot and it works wonderful (I got the recommendation from this board).

I generally use vinegar and water, though I don't think this makes them shiny. I may try Bruce's for that.

Could be that I just don't mop them so much!

Method Wood for Good on both the hardwood and the laminate flooring.

We had a guy come and give us an estimate on redoing the floors and he told us not to use Murphy's Oil Soap cuz it goes under the polyurethane and lifts it...he said that was what the lifted spots were on our floor (they were there when we bought the house).

I use the Bruce's and it's great...I spray it and then mop it up with a dry swiffer. The guy at Long Island Paneling told me on real or laminate, he swears by Windex, which is funny b/c I was just talking about Windex the other day. This post is probably old but I was looking for other ideas to clean the floor. These are the original floors, and they're far better than the floors I put in my old house; they seem very resistant to scratching--maybe b/c they're the real deal and already have that antique look to them. The guy at the store also told me no Orange Glo or any of that "crap" as he called it.

How often do you change the water when you do the 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar?

I feel like the floor isn't clean at all. I used the vinegar in the LR, and then I spilled water later that day and the towel came up dirty.
