How do you keep your hardwood floors clean

I feel like I am constantly cleaning my floors. There is always little fuzzies and whatnot from the area rugs that go onto the floor. I find that I see every little thing that's on them.

What I do now is either use the dustbuster or the Dyson to pick up whatever is on the floor and then I use the Wet Swiffer for Hardwood floors. Should I be using something else? Or is this just the way life with hardwood floors is??

this is my routine, thinking of getting the roomba to see if that helps.

I sweep, then dustbuster, then mop.
I squeeze all the water out of the mop so it's not very wet..I heard it's not good to use water on wooden floors.

I am CONSTANTLY sweeping, wet and dry swiffering and once a week full on vacuuming....its so annoying, esp with our dogs hairballs, but I guess its just the way it is with hardwood

I vacuum every few days with the plastic endpiece. Once a week, I mop with Method wood for good floor care.

I sweep alot, a few times a day. I do the swiffer at least 1x a day, esp under the dining room table bc my kids are not the neatest and I have an 8 month old crawling too. I vacuum a couple times a week and do a vinegar & water mopping 1x a week.

I use a Swifter almost ever day and I use a hardwood floor cleaner that Swifter makes once a week. I'm afraid to use the vacuum because I don't want to scratch up my floors!

WOW - ok - so i'm not the only one. I was beginning to think that DH and I were a bunch of slobs because I was constantly having to clean them.

I couldn't imagine having hardwood on my second floor also - I think that would send me over the edge if I had to deal with that in the bedrooms too.

I use the Hoover Wet/Dri Vac. It's great for wood floors and tile. It cleans with an Old English and water solution.

So much dirt comes up

vacuum, dry swifter, wet swifter a few times per week. about 1x a month or so, i mop w/ water and vinegar.

vacuum and dry swiffer couple of times per week and damp mop with Murphys Oil soap - they shine afterwards

DH and I are ripping up all of our carpets b/c there is hardwood underneath them......I have no idea how I am going to keep them clean. I think vacuuming the carpets is so much easier...

I sweep. Personally, although it requires more cleaning, I think of how much stuff we sweep up versus how much stuff would still be in the carpet.
