what did your doctor say about
Peanut butter
My doctor said since she is 1 now she can have.
I'm not sure what to do if i should or wait
She just told me no HONEY and Shellfish and nuts

My dr originally said 3 but now with my littlest he wants me to wait until 4 but that's only because my niece a peanut allergy.

My family doesn't have food allergies so the doc said at 2 BUT we started her at about 14 months with no problem. I just gave her a taste the first time & watched for a reaction. There was none so she has PB at 19 months a couple of times a week.

I find it hard to believe the ped would say OK to peanut butter, but no to nuts, since peanut butter is technically in the nut family
My ped says 2. I'd love to give it before tho b/c DH and I eat it all the time.

I agree, it's weird. For those who don't know, there are 2 different types of nut allergies. Peanut and tree nuts (pretty much all other nuts). One kid in dd's class is not peanut allergic but is tree nut allergic.
To answer the original question, our pediatrician says wait until 2 years old. I didn't give my dd anything with peanuts until she was about 2.5. I was waiting until my son was old enough since they are so close in age, but he got tested for food allergies before he was 1 and we knew he wasn't allergic.

I was told since we had not peanut allergies in the family it was OK after 1. I tried it and DD LOVED it. It is one of her favorite foods.

My doctor said that same as yours. (No nuts because it's a choking hazard). I gave him peanut butter at about 15 months old and he's not too crazy about it, but no reaction.
I heard that if they are going to react, they will react to the tiniest bit. Try putting some on your finger and giving it to her. See if she reacts to that.

My doc said at 1 i can give honey and pb and that there's no off limits allergy food besides the obvious choking hazards and shellfish.
There's allergies in my family plus dd has eczema, so in my case doc said we could wait if we wanted. My DD is 2 and no PB yet-i gave her a taste of it when she was around 18 months and she didn't like it anyways.

I don't remember what my doc said, but I have been giving peanut butter since 18 months. DS loves it.
