Bethpage Federal Credit Union. They were a pleasure to deal with. This was my 3rd time doing a mortgage and it was by far the smoothest procedure and closing.
I liked Chase also, but stay away from Bank of America

I had GreenPoint for both of my loans--the 1st got sold to Countrywide and I have no complaints so far. The 2nd got sold to GMAC and I had no problems with them--we just recently refianced our 2nd and used Commerce--I have a few issues with their automatic debit procedure and making additional principal payments.

This is sooo good to know! DH works for GMC and is "suppose" to get discounts...yeah...needless to say we did NOT go with them.

Honestly your bank can sell your loan to anyone they want you sign a paper saying that you agree to pay anyone they sell it to. That being said you can go for banks that service most of their loans rather than selling them like HSBC or Countrywide

We just locked in with Chase
ETA: Advice would be to do your research. Go to different banks and ask about their rates and fees. Ask for a good faith estimate from all banks you are thinking of. Then bring GFE to your attorney. Your attorney should be able to determine if they are not being realistic or honest.
