Didn't work for us- we should have had green or brown. Our DD is definately going to stay blue.

My eyes are green and my DH eyes are brown...
I know that he has the light eye allele b/c his daughter has blue eyes...so basically that gives us a 50/50 shot of a light eyed child....
Im hoping for my green eyes!!!! The rest Id like to look like my DH.

..none of my girls have my green eyes either...all wound up with light gray or brown...
I spoke to my genetics professor about this 2 semesters ago and basically he said that the lightness of the eyes themselves are inherited (light eyes or dark eyes) but the "color" itself is a roll of the dice..has to do with melanin etc.

Didn't work for me either. DH's parents both have blue and he has hazel brown. My parents both have blue and I have green...
I have green and he has hazel brown and Jules has blue...

83.3% brown
8% blue
8.6% green
We shall see!!!
But that's based on me having really brown eyes which are really hazel with lots of green.

my DH eyes are green-hazel-light brownish, so when i put in green for him and blue for me, we have a 50% chance of either blue or green,
when i put in brown for him (and blue for me) its 50% brown, 37% blue and 12.5 % green, hmm i can't wait to find out they need a hazel color representation LOL

Good question! My eyes are really Hazel with lots of dark green not just brown.
We are both like brown hair (DH was born blond) and I have hazel eyes.
We both have blond and/or blue eyes in our family.
We have NO CLUE what this kid will be but it's possible he is born blond. Maybe with blue or green eyes.

30% blue
70% green
Right now RJs eyes are blue- with a tinge of green in the center...
They will prob stay this way- (he is 18 months) if anything- I think the green will become more visible (right now- eveyone just sees the blue- except for those who are "really" looking)

My DH's aunt and uncle both have brown eyes and they had 4 children. 2 children have green eyes, one has blue and one has brown. Isn't that something? So you never know what you will get.

It depends on what type of hazel eyes....
technically 2 blue eyed people cannot have a brown eyed child...b/c neither one of them carry the gene for brown eyes...brown eyed genes are dominant and if you carry it your eyes are brown...so in the case of hazel eyes its like this big mixture of color...the blue, the gray, the green, and yellow get muddled together and change color or can look brownish
So if you have 2 blue eyed parents that wind up with a dark browned eyed child then Mommy has some explaining to do!!!!!
My eyes are blue with yellow which makes them very very green...but they tend to look less green the more blue I wear...and in allergy season, when my eyes are red..my eyes are bright green

I have no kids yet, but this is not true for my sister and BIL.
It says only a 5.1% chance of blue eyes
and a 86.1% chance of brown.
All three of their kids have blue eyes.
My sister and BIL bought have brown eyes.
Mine was 37.5% Blue, 50% Brown,12.5% Green.
We have every color. DH, my father, and FIL have blue.
My Mom, sister and me have Brown.
MIL and BIL have green.
So who knows!!
