What age are kids considered toddlers?
Is my 1 year old a toddler? He is not yet walking.
My 3yo would be considered a preschooler, right?

I didn't really consider my DS a toddler until he was 2. Until then he was a baby, my baby.
Since your DS isn't walking yet, I definitely wouldn't call him a toddler yet. You have some more time :)
Wow, can't believe he'll be called a pre-schooler when he turns 3. Goes so fast.

I always considered over 2 a toddler and was really surprised (and upset ) to hear over 1 refereed to as a toddler. A little while ago I saw some commercial that said something along the lines of "they're only a BABY for one year". It made me  on the spot, lol. It's sad but it's also so much fun to watch them learn and discover new things. My 1 year old is still a baby to me.

I consider toddlers to be 2 and over, under 2 is still a baby
