Went to doctor last night...1 cm dilated and need info....
Ok, my due date is March 7, 2006 and last night my doctor did an internal and said I was 1 cm dilated and my cervix is thinning nicely.
I stop work on Friday. All the ladies at work tell me that I could go any day now or I could be 1 cm dialted for 2 weeks.
Help...........

Unfortunatly they are right.. it could still take a while before anything happens..
I would take one day at a time.. if you feel even the slightest bit of contractions then I would leave work obviously..
Just take it easy at work.. maybe leave earlier everyday?

I was in the hospital for 8 days when they found I was contracting regularly and was 1cm dialated and 100% effaced...........after the hospital I was home for 3.5 weeks (at 2.5cm then 3cm dialated) fully effaced before I had the baby. Every time I went to the Dr they said..anyday now......
SOOOOO it could still be a while....

I too am dilated 1 cm and effaced 50 % .. I am due next week and the doctor said I should go ontime..

I am 1 cm also and due March 13th. Unfortunately my mom was 1 cm dialated for a whole month for my brother and I. LOL

I'm due 3/4. Last Tuesday I was 2cm dilated, I lost my mucous plug, and I've been having contractions since then, but still no baby. The doctors told me it could be any day, but it might not be for another week or two. The waiting is killing me!

My friend was due last week (2/16), the week before she was 1 cm dialated, last Friday she was 2 cm dialated and 70% effaced, yesterday she was 3 cm dialated and still 70% effaced....still no baby. They are inducing her tomorrow unless the little one decides earlier to make an entrance!

You can stay this way for a few weeks or you can go at any time. Just get your bag ready and have the car seat installed

Yup you can stay that way for a day, hour, min, or a few weeks!! The waiting sux. I was 1 cm dilated like December 1st and i didnt deliver until December 28th AND they induced me... hang in there! Hopefully you'll go sooner than later...
