Weight machines?

I can do cardio until the gym closes, that's not a problem. I am so clueless when it comes to weight machines. Intimidated is more the word. How many reps does everyone do? Anyone care to share their weight routine?

Weight machines?

The best thing to do is see if someone can teach you. I had personal training sessions and my trainer taught me the right way to use the machines. Does your gym have an introductory class on how to use the machines? I know some do.
Another good resource is bodybuilding.com- they have videos that show you how to use the machines, what muscles it targets, and how many reps to do.

I had a PT about a year ago, at the same gym, and he did very little to show me what to do on my own. He always timed my reps (i.e. work for a minute, rest for 30 sec or something like that) which is really hard to do when you work out by yourself.

There are apps that will time you. I use a tabata timer (20 sec on, 10 sec rest).

Re: Weight machines?

If you don't want a trainer, maybe your Dh or a friend can show you? The weight and reps will vary for each person.

I prefer free weights but i do love the rowing machine.

watch youtube too!
