Was Gisele Bundchen Out of Line in VF or Is Bridget Moynahan's Camp Overreacting?
Gisele Bundchen made headlines earlier this week when she was quoted in Vanity Fair about how connected she feels to Tom Brady's son, Jack. Today, a close friend of Tom's ex and Jack's mother Bridget Moynahan struck back. An excerpt from the statement is below, as well as Gisele's original quote, but the Moynahan camp took the chance to call out both Tom and Gisele's behavior. Check out both sides:
Gisele originally said: "I understand that he has a mom, and I respect that, but to me it's not like because somebody else delivered him, that's not my child. I feel it is, 100 percent. I want him to have a great relationship with his mom, because that’s important, but I love him the same way as if he were mine. I already feel like he's my son, from the first day."
Bridget's camp responds: "If Gisele loved Bridget's child like he was '100 percent her own,' then she would not talk about him in the press. Discretion and respect are not either of Gisele or Tom's virtues, as was evidenced even when the child was still unborn and they publicly flaunted their relationship without any discretion whatsoever. Don't you think Jack will grow up and read her comments and find them disrespectful to him and his mother? If Tom is such a great father as everyone likes to say, then you would think that he'd respect the privacy of his young child and would ask his wife not to use his son as a publicity prop and a subject of public discussion. Is she is so desperate for attention that she can't find anything more productive to talk about other than Bridget's child?"

Eh...I don't know. This is a tough one.
I can see why Bridget would be upset that she spoke about him. But I think it has more to do with the way Gisele & Tom got together than anything else. Sounds like she still holds a lot of bitterness.
She is his step-mother. And how does Bridgets "camp" know Gisele didn't clear it with Tom 1st?
I happen to think what Gisele said was nice.

Clearly Gisele was speaking from the goodness of her heart. I don't think there was any intended malice towards her stepson or his mother. I haven't read the interview, but I would imagine she wasn't the one to bring up Tom's son and from what little I just read here, I got the feeling she wanted it known that she loves him just as if he was her own. Nothing wrong with that.

Gisele needs to be slapped with a fish.
Its called discretion....you don't need to talk about your new stepson in the magazines. To actually say that just because you didn't give birth to the child doesn't make him "100%" hers, is very disrespectful to the mother.
Lets be real here, I'm sure relations between Bridge & Gisele aren't quite sweet as pie. I wouldn't be very warm to the woman who was dating my baby's father while I was still pregnant....now you must deal with them together cause they are married.
Making a statement like that to the magazine seems like Gisele was just slapping Bridget in the face, especially considering the circumstances surrounding the likely dynamic of the relationship between all 3 adults.

What I want to know if why didn't Bridget's rep state "No comment" and Bridget, Tom and Gisele discuss the issue in private? 
How private can Bridget want to be if her publicist is commenting on it.

I think Bridgette sounds very bitter.... she is just as bad as she claims they are by publicly commenting and dragging it on further. She should have handled it privately.

It was a "friend" that made the comments not her publicist. There have been no comments from her. At least not that I have seen.

yeah me too..she's not saying she's trying to replace his mother but that she accepts the boy and loves him. I would imagine its hard in any situation to become a step parent and i've known plenty of families with step parents and children that are bitter and dont get along.
Bridget should be happy that they all love the child and get over it.

Like I said before, considering the history between all 3 people -- I don't think any mother would appreciate hearing their ex's new wife talk like that, as if she has some stake or claim to the baby and is putting it out there like that.

I completely agree with everything you said. Giselle is his stepmom. He has a mother. I can understand if Gisele adopted the child but she didnt' and can't so she should really watch what she says. I think she should have kept that a bit more private. Seems to me she was taking a stab at Bridget!

I don't know .........I think she is heartfelt and MEANS that she loves the kids as if her were her own - and just b/c she didn't give birth to him, does not mean she will not love and care for him as if she did ........Which I think is very sweet -

From an outsiders pov I think the sentiment behind Gisele's quote was very sweet. It's nice to see a stepparent feel that much love and closeness to a child. That being said, I'm not a mother and I think that my perception of that quote would tend to change if the new wife of my ex was saying this.

I think the sentiment behind what she was saying (that she loves him 100%) was nice, but the way she said it wasn't the best. English isn't her first language though, so I would be inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt.
