UPDATED again... - UPDATE we heard from the bank already! - We put in an offer!!!!!!
*Update #2 (2/28): I don't think we're going to accept the offer. We talked and did a lot of research last night and feel that our original offer was comparable to what other homes are listed at in the area. We definitely don't want to overpay in a market like this. So... we'll keep looking!
Also, the bank changed some of the other terms on the contract that we didn't like.

*UPDATE: Our realtor called and said the bank already came back with a counter offer! $10k above what we offered. DH and I are going to talk when he gets home and make a decision tonight or tomorrow.

It's so exciting, but we're trying to not to get our hopes up yet. It's a short sale so we're dealing with the bank and who knows how long they are going to take to give us an answer.
