Update with new question re: Need ideas for WOOD 5th Wedding Anniversary gift for DH
HI - not sure if I'm posting this on the right board or not...
DH always gets me a gift for whatever goes with that year's anniverary and I never do...he is so thoughtful and puts so much thought into it even if it's a silly little token. This year is wood and I am clueless on what I can get him. All I came up with is a cutting board but I feel like that is lame.
Any ideas?

We celebrated our 5th anniversary this summer. I got DH some tiki statues and a tiki mask (he loves all things tiki), and he got me a digital picture frame that was wood.

ok why i didn't think of a frame myself is mind boggling to me...great idea! i could do either pics of us and DD or maybe a wedding or honeymoon pic....thanks! i like the digital frame pic idea too - he/we don't have one yet.

You can also do paper because paper is pulp and pulp is wood!

DH got me a carving board with our names carved into it, as well as a photo album with a wooden cover.
He's a real foodie, so I got him this - in drawer knife block
But other thoughts - photo frame or a box for jewellry/cuff links, etc.

Baseball fan? You can get bottle openers made with wood from a bat that was usd in a game for most teams.

I was going to do a wooden, custom-framed preparation of a placemat for the restauarant where we celebrated our engagement in Zurich. (cheesey me, I saved it all these years)....
Then our house needed a giant renovation and we agreed the new studs/framing would count as wood this anniversary.

if I am having something engraved in the wood and saying Happy 5th Anniversary and then the date....do I put our wedding date or this year's date...the date of this anniversary?
It's the wood photo plaque...and I can engrave something under the photo and can't decide if it should be our wedding date under where I'm writing Happy 5th Anniversary....or the anniv date? Am I making sense?

My husband has this:
slightly different design. But its an actual watch made from wood by Mica. He gets tons of comments on it. He actually fawned over it once and I made it happen haha. I find women are much better at remembering a hint LOL.
Ironically next year he's getting oakley glasses frames to match in a wood like design and color  I tell you this man is WAY more into fashion that I am!
