We're biting the bullet and going to Disneyland (NOT world) in the spring, mainly because BIL and SIL live in LA and we've never been to see them.
I don't know which I'm dreading more, BIL or Disney.
You couldn't pay me any amount of money to go to Disney World in FL.

I hate Disney. I had to go to a wedding there a few years back and I am never going back. I just don't get it at all. Nothing about it says vacation to me.

Oh please.. never will I go to Disney lol. It’s worse because we took my stepson but I refuse to go again.
My son tried to play the “you took my brother card”. I told him, he can ask his bro about it and when he is an adult he can Disney all he wants. Lol

I will not be paying for my kids college. I might buy them books, send them grocery store gift cards, smaller things like that. If they are serious about school, they should be able to handle the monthly bill of paying back student loans from a state school when they graduate and get their first job. I will do everything in my human power to deter them from the expense of private colleges.

I don’t think Disney looks like a good place to visit. It seems like it would be hell.

I agree, and I also have no problem recognizing if my children are more inclined to work in a trade or vocation and encouraging them to go to school/training for their field. Blue collar workers get a bad wrap at times, but they are some of the most hardworking people and many of the jobs can be quite lucrative. College isn't for everyone and I truly think that by the time my kids are ready for college, the entire for-profit diploma-mill higher education system will be radically different than when we went to college.

Don't dread Disneyland!! It is sooooooo much better than Disney World! I think you will like it! And I really liked California Adventure also! enjoy! I haven't been to Disney in FL in about 20 years now, and after reading these boards, I don't think I'd ever go there again.

Yes! My dh works in a trade. Great job! And I have a masters with no job. I ended up staying home with my kids because I couldn't make enough money to make it worth the daycare costs. I'm in school debt and dh is not. It's crazy.

I'm not running to Disney anytime soon. Dreading it, actually. It's not a vacation. It's work. I don't want to work on vacation. Or move. I want to sit lazily on my fat ass and eat and drink. I absolutely love seeing everyone's pictures because I really feel like I've seen everything, and I'm ok with that.
Unpopular opinion: I love it cool. I can't stand the heat, hot weather, saunas, hot tubs, socks. This is why I'm not into Disney. It's work and it's hot work.
Why is it a "thing" to request donations for a charity on Facebook for your birthday? I find it obnoxious, as if the person were expecting gifts 
The whole "reclaimed wood" and "rustic script " are ridiculous. I can't even get a basic photo card for Christmas without planks and burlap

I was same about disney but finally planned a short 4 day trip with my daughters who are 15 and 12. Dont regret waiting or taking them!

I think prostitution should be legal. Sex is one of the basic needs, like food or shelter. If both parties consent, they should work out a deal, in the same manner as going to a restaurant or getting an apartment. It shouldn't be called prostitution, as that has a bad connotation. Sex worker is better.

Agreed - sex work should be legitimized and destigmatized if the people engaging in sex work are consensual adults. It should be treated as a business transaction. The illegality of it should extend to the sex trafficking industry but not sex work on the whole.
I also think pot should be decriminalized. I smoke pot and rarely drink - alcohol to me is far worse and addicting.
I think a lot of what we deem as unsavory is based on really, really old prejudices that shouldn't be perpetuated in 2018.

Im kidding. I agree with the sentiment around why people think prostitution should be legalized but would never want this to happen.
My fear would be an even bigger rise in sex trafficking or creating a legal loophole for rape. Im nervous that with it be legal, it would be easier for sex traffickers to say oh well she consents to doing it. And since the prostitution part is no longer illegal there is nothing we can get them on.
ETA: I am not a lawyer or know the legal system. So this is all my theory and I could be way off base.

I hadn't thought of those aspects. Definitely want to do more research on it, it's legal in the Netherlands so I'm curious to know how it works there.

Here are a few of mine....
I think it's perfectly acceptable for people not to want any children at their wedding.
It's totally fine not to breastfeed. Or even try.
I'd rather have root canal then spend a fortune on a non-relaxing "vacation" to Disney.
I despise cupcakes and don't get the hype at all. They are just oddly shaped pieces of cake with too sugary frosting that are awkward to eat.
I feel like if you don't RSVP to a party you are either very mean or very lazy.
I think expensive destination bachelor/ette parties are completely ridiculous.
