UGH - Town of Hempstead
We have been waiting on our permit to start construction on our extension. My DH gets through to someone with the town today and they tell him that our application was rejected but wouldnt tell why. They sent a letter to our architect. Why wouldnt they also cc us?

You have a violation.
Go down to the town hall on Washington Street and ask to speak to one of the plan examiners in the building department.
If they are nice the plan examiner will tell you what is wrong. They seem to be pretty nice people down there and don't like to reject people.
Then when your architect fixes what he needs to fix, you can bring the stuff back there personally. It usually only takes them 3-5 days to check an existing file/update.
I had a violation on my plans and it didn't take too long to get corrected.

Let me also add that you are better off going down there in person because they tend to be VERY BUSY. You will get more attention in person.
