Spoke with the town of hempstead
about our star exemption..
we can file now, but we arent eligible for the 2007 tax year, have to wait until 2008- that stinks..
oh well..
at least we'll get the filing out of the way..
thought i would let you all know

Although you aren't eligible till 2008 you might still get the exemption. We moved in, in april after the filing date for star and we still got it because the bill came in the name of the previous owner. We are approved for 2008 so I guess we just got lucky this year--hopefully you do too.

This stinks! When was the deadline? We just closed on Monday. bummer. I think we will apply now it doesn't hurt to ge it out of the way early.
