Instead of giving something up, I'm going to try and enrich my life. I'm going to make the effort to go to church regularly.

ETA: Last year, was using the F-bomb.

giving up Soda...

I never drank soda until recently, but now whenever we go out to eat, which is often, i get soda and I want to stop!

Also, we follow the no meat on Fridays during lent rule...

And we will be making an extra donation - we havent decided to which organization yet

1. I'm pretty strict w/Lent - meats/dairy etc.

2. Will be attending mass/liturgy more often.

3. Contributing towards a shelter that my Church is associated with - including volunteering whenever I can.

Re: Tomorrow is Lent- What are you giving up?

I was talking to my husband about this the other day. I was saying what should I give up and his reply was...you gave up birth control.

But for real i am going to give up Pepsi. I am addicted to it and I am going to TRY my hardest to get rid of it and all the caffeine!!

Re: Tomorrow is Lent- What are you giving up?

well i heard that when you are PG you don't have to give anything up. And I don't think I could go 40 days without certain things with my crazy cravings. I am going to give up cursing. I do it alot and I don't want to especially around my DD.

Re: Tomorrow is Lent- What are you giving up?

this year i am not going to give up something tangible.. i think more meaningful is to give up or sacrafice something that means something to others- not just yourself- so this year I am vowing to not speak negatively about myself or others...not gossiping, no cursing, no hate.

It sounds silly, but I'm giving up my snacks. I'm trying to lose weight so I'm addicted to skinny cow ice cream cones and WW lemon cakes. So out they go.
