Toddler Drowns in Pool-
June 22, 2006
A Queens family is grieving the death of their youngest daughter after she drowned in their swimming pool Thursday morning.
Neighbors say 2-year-old Jolie Aneccio was at her mother's side while she was doing chores earlier this morning in the family's Lindenwood home. Jolie's mom, Penny, left her alone to use the bathroom and when she came back she realized her daughter was missing.
Neighbors say she found the little girl at the bottom of the family's backyard swimming pool.
"We just heard screaming. She was screaming and then we heard her say, 'please call an ambulance.' And then she was telling the guy, 'Steve, please make her breathe. Make her breathe,' " recalled a neighbor.
"She's a good mommy. She was just very, very upset that that happened to her daughter, and I feel real bad for the family right now," said another.
The ladder to the pool was apparently down at the time of the accident, and there's no fencing around it.
Neighbors say an off-duty firefighter attempted to revive the child before emergency crews arrived. She was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, but she did not survive. Her two older sisters were not at home during the accident.
Police say they are considering this an accident.
This happened right near me, not in lindenwood like it says...I know the people too

Thank God my DH just finished installing a fence around our pool. This still scares the life out of me. The poor woman!
