I think I'm the only person who watches this show and never cries. Don't get me wrong, I love the show but it never gets me to that point.

Im with you. I cry so easily at tv and movies but this show does bring me to tears. I did cry when Toby have us that scare but that's it.

i think they are making the character Jack a little too perfect. I think him being a little more flawed would ring truer to life.

I don't know, I feel like earlier on they had the scenes where he seemed to be having a thing with alcohol and she basically said she won't live that life. And I think the kids were around at that point. I'm guessing we will see more about that time again at some point.

Last night's episode killed me. Especially the parts with the doctor. All I could think about was my dad after my mom passed away. He was the same - so very, very lost without her. Still breaks my heart every time. And it's been almost 16 years. Chat Icon

Rebecca was so cute with the cupcake after being so mean to Jack. I kept asking DH if I was ever like that when I was PG. I am pretty sure I never got really crazy - but I also never carried 3 at a time!

The parts with Dr. K were what got to me too...all I could think of was my grandfather...my grandma passed away 10 months ago and it just brought up so much for me.Chat Icon

I'm very sensitive and cry easily.

I don't cry a lot with this show. But it does touch me. I've definitely cried more watching the Hallmark channel last monthChat Icon

As much as I do like the show, Mandy Moore isn't the best actress. I feel like she's the same in every scene. And it's starting to annoy me.

Same here. I did cry a bit during the last episode when Jack told Rebecca that the 3rd baby died but otherwise I haven't cried at all, which is strange because I cry at shows and movies often lol

I think they are building up a story for the mom, whether it be dementia or some other illness.

I think there is a hidden flaw, and his death will come from that.

and the fireman! i want to know this back story. why was the wife so cold to him? because they couldn't have a baby? is it me or was Randall not born on that day...he was just brought to the hospital on that day. I wonder what his real birthday is.

YESSSSS!! That baby is a newborn but he's not 1 day old. No way! I guess it's not that big of a deal but there's just no way his mother died and his father brought him to the firehouse ASAP.

Then again, it's not like they're going to get a 1 day old baby to film.. so maybe. But the same thing goes through my head whenever they show them as babies. Chat Icon

i just feel like if he was a 1 day old he would already be in the hospital...especially if the mother died. did she die at childbirth or later? i can't remember

i love that Randall knew what was important and put work aside to spend time with his dad and make his dreams come true.

who knew Kevin could love! and he was married! can't wait to hear more about that!

the kids look about the same age they were during that football game...so definitely high school.

what were the drinking years? i can't remember now.

Omg I loved it so much

Kevin & Sophie. My heart melted.

Randall's character is amazing. As a child to an adult. Love!

But them at their fathers funeral. Seeing Kate as a little girl standing at the gravesite. I lost it. I stood in that same spot at 12 years old and it still hurts today like it did back then.

This show is just amazing. Pulling so many emotions out of me. Great writing and acting.

This was one of my favorite episodes by far.

Loved Randall and his dad. Teaching him how to drive and those shades. Loved it.

I thought the Kevin and Sophie story line was cute but now I feel bad because Sophie was just using Kate to get to Kevin at her birthday and I think Sophie was the one who wrote her that mean note at the pool. I don't think Kate is going to be happy about them being together.

I agree and I think this will be a big storyline in season 2 getting into their relationship and how it affected everyone, why they split and what it means for reconciliation.

I was a little confused by how young the kids looked at their dad's funeral; they looked like teenagers/early 20s tops.

Kate says that she and her dad watched the Super Bowl together in 2006, which means the kids had to be at least 26 when he died.

Pretty sure she was referring to watching with his ashes in 2006.

There is no way they were in their 20s during his funeral. I am guessing 16 or so based on last nights clips.

I just LOVED this episode... I actually had a wave of panic come over me during the episode that William was going to die in this episode!

Read a Q&A with the writer of the show and he stated the kids are around 16-18 years old at the time of Jack's death and made reference to the fact that the kids are at such a pivotal age when he dies.
